President Joe Biden’s campaign will air a commercial Thursday night in swing states to coincide with the National Football League season opener as part of a wider $25 million television advertising purchase.
Axios reports this on Tuesday that a Biden campaign ad titled “Got to Work” will air on Michigan local broadcast networks Thursday as the Detroit Lions take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 30-second spot will also air in battlefield states, including Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Wisconsin.
“There’s more to do, but President Biden is getting results that matter,” the ad says, noting that inflation has fallen to 3 percent and unemployment is “the lowest in decades.”
It’s coming according to a poll by the Wall Street Journal Saturday revealed that Biden had ties with former President Donald Trump in a general election runoff, and 73 percent of respondents in the same survey said the 80-year-old Biden is too old to run for a second term.

While the ad doesn’t boost Biden on age demand, it does play into his economic track record, another area where polls show him falling short.
The Wall Street Journal survey found that 37 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, compared to 59 percent who disapprove.
The ad suggests the economy could be worse if Biden hadn’t stepped in.
“They said millions would lose their jobs and the economy would collapse, but this president refused to let that happen,” says the voiceover. “Instead, he got to work: He repaired supply chains, fought corporate greed, passed laws to lower the cost of medicines, cut energy bills, and made us more energy independent.”
The campaign plans to spend seven figures on this particular ad, Axios reported.
Biden’s re-election campaign will then roll out additional ads in the coming months highlighting his economic track record.
The ads will run on cable news networks, as well as streaming and digital platforms in battlegrounds.

The ads will only run on Fox News during the day, Axios reports.
Fox News’ primetime lineup is dominated by conservatives who are not friendly to Biden.
Ads may also run on broadcast networks, with the campaign looking at ABC’s World News Tonight With David Muir and CBS’ 60 Minutes as possible placements, Axios said.
A portion of the $25 million ad purchase will also be spent on ads targeting Hispanic and black audiences and will run during football games and on the Oprah Winfrey Network, a source told Axios.
The $25 million ad purchase is expected to last through December.
