Biden LAUGHS at MTG blaming him for overdoses of two brothers: they died under Trump

>

President Biden laughed off a claim by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene that he “killed” a mother’s two children who died from fentanyl in 2020, even if they had died during the Trump administration.

The president predicted that the Georgia Republican would drive people out of the Republican Party en masse in a speech at the annual House Democrats’ retreat in Baltimore.

The president urged Democrats to stress how much they had accomplished legislatively in the last Congress and told them to keep trying to work across the aisle with those who are not “MAGA Republicans.”

As Democrats gathered to hear from the higher-ups on his strategy to fight the GOP’s control of the House and regain power in 2024, Biden urged them to run based on his record.

‘Friends, you know how much we have done. Much of the country still doesn’t know it,” he said.

Touting the bipartisan infrastructure bill passed last Congress, he said:

President Biden laughed off a claim by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene that he “killed” the two sons of a mother who died of fentanyl in 2020, even if they had died during the Trump administration.

If we did nothing, nothing more than implement what we have already approved and let people know that we did it for them, we won.

But Biden said there was still “unfinished business,” citing immigration reform, police reform and gun control.

MAGA Republicans will not get on board with most of these things. That leaves many Republicans still left. Republicans can help achieve a significant majority on some of these things,’ he said.

“A little more than… a little more than Marjorie Taylor Greene, you’ll have a lot of Republicans coming your way,” Biden said. ‘Isn’t that amazing?’

“She was very specific recently in telling a mother, a mother who lost two children to fentanyl, that I killed her children. Well, the interesting thing is that the fentanyl they took came during the last administration,” Biden said with a smile.

“I don’t want to start,” he added.

Greene claimed Tuesday that Rebecca Kiesling’s sons Kyler and Caleb, ages 18 and 20, died due to the Biden administration’s policies, tweeting a clip of the distraught mother testifying before the House Homeland Security Committee. Kiesling said her children had thought they were taking a safer pain pill.

“Listen to this mother, who lost two sons to fentanyl poisoning, tell the truth about her son’s two murders due to the Biden administrations’ refusal to secure our border and stop the Cartel from murdering Americans every day. with Chinese fentanyl,” Greene tweeted.

But the sons died on July 29, 2020, Kiessling said, more than five months before Donald Trump left office.

US deaths from fentanyl have been on the rise since the 2010s, rising during covid-19 and continuing to rise under the Biden presidency.

In 2022, 107,000 Americans died from overdoses.

Biden also addressed his meeting with President Kevin McCarthy on the debt ceiling, calling it a “decent meeting” and saying that McCarthy “seems like a decent guy.”

“He says he won’t raise taxes on anyone,” Biden said. ‘He just wants to cut programs. So I said let’s set our budgets.

‘I filed mine on March 9, should do the same.

“We should sit down, and it would be interesting to see what they want to cut and what their numbers add up to.”

The Republican Party has promised to publish a budget in April.

“They sure don’t act like the party that cares about fiscal responsibility,” Biden said of the Republicans.

‘Under my predecessor, Congress voted three times to pay America’s bills. So they didn’t put the country in crisis, why should they now?’

In January, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned that the country had reached its debt ceiling of $31.4 trillion, the maximum amount of money it could spend to finance government programs and pay down debt.

McCarthy and Biden are now at odds as Republicans insist on budget cuts in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. President Biden is expected to release his budget next week.
