Biden is heckled AGAIN by protester demanding a Gaza ceasefire: President holds rowdy rally where crowd chants for Trump to be JAILED – and he jokes ‘it wasn’t me’ when a member of the press falls over

President Joe Biden was heckled by a protester during his speech in Illinois on Thursday after he struggled to put on a T-shirt honoring the United Auto Workers and hurled a few expletives at Donald Trump.

Biden was in Belvidere, Illinois, to help the union mark the end of the six-week strike that resulted in record wage deals with General Motors Co. Stellantis NV. and Ford Motor Co.

His speech quickly turned chaotic, with a heckler shouting at him, a media member falling from the press platform and attendees shouting for Trump to be jailed.

As the president took the stage to begin his remarks, a heckler shouted, “President Biden, you must call for a ceasefire in Gaza!”

Her protest came as Israel agreed to impose a four-hour daily humanitarian pause in its attack on Hamas in northern Gaza as part of an effort to get hostages out, which the White House announced early Thursday.

Biden had asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call on Monday to impose the daily breaks.

The woman was escorted out by security as attendees booed her and chanted, “Let’s go, Joe.”

Biden told the crowd, “Let her go… it’s OK.”

Later, the president’s speech was interrupted by a loud bang in the audience. A member of the media stumbled and tripped over the press stand, a raised platform where journalists stand to watch the president’s remarks.

“Are you OK?” Biden said, adding, “I want the press to know it wasn’t me.”

The president walked out to thunderous applause and was presented with a red UAW T-shirt by Matt Frantzen, president of UAW Local 1268.

Biden took off his suit jacket and struggled to put the T-shirt on over his shirt. Frantzen helped him smooth it out.

“That shirt suits you!” shouted a man in the audience.

“I’ve worn this shirt a lot, man,” Biden responded. “I’ve been involved with UAW longer than you’ve been alive, man.”

In his remarks, Biden touted his longstanding support for auto workers and took several jabs at Trump, who is leading the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The UAW, a powerful union, has not yet come out in support of the 2024 election. Both Biden and Trump have courted autoworkers.

“Here’s the difference: When you were in the middle of a fight, I stood and others stood shoulder to shoulder with you on that picket line. My pastor went to a non-union store and attacked you. I hope you have a memory,” he said.

“Then my predecessor, the distinguished one — at least,” Biden said, making the sign of the cross. He noted that six car factories were closed while Trump was in power.

He also made a rare mention of Donald Trump by name — typically referring to the former president as “my predecessor.”

“Donald Trump often says what we now call a failing country – a nation in decline,” he said.

It caused members of the public to heckle Trump and call for him to be jailed.

“Put him in jail” and “Jail Trump,” were shouted by the crowd.

Biden also met in person with union President Shawn Fain during his trip to Illinois. The UAW president has said he wants to use the momentum from their strike victory to target non-union manufacturers such as Tesla and Toyota.

The president said he supports such a move.

“I want this type of contract for all auto workers,” Biden said in his remarks.

In September, Biden joined striking auto workers on the picket line and supported their bid for a 40% wage increase.

Both men are working to win over working-class voters in this critical battleground state. Trump won Michigan in the 2016 election, defeating Hillary Clinton. But Biden took it back for the Democrats in 2020 and defeated Trump.

However, Trump wants to win it back together with the Democratic strongholds Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. These three Rustbelt states were key to his victory in 2016 and to Biden’s victory in 2020.

Both Biden and Trump are doing their best to attract working-class votes: Biden emphasizes his roots in Scranton and his longstanding ties to unions and the middle class; Trump promised to revive dying manufacturing cities and destroyed global trade deals.

But as Biden marched along the picket line, Trump spoke to supporters of Drake Enterprises, a non-union auto parts supplier about a half hour outside Detroit.

The former president faced some criticism for going to a non-union operation and for the fact that his speech is by invitation only.

His campaign said Trump is fighting to protect all middle-class jobs, not just those of union members.

“President Trump is fighting to protect the jobs of all middle-class working voters in Michigan, both union and non-union. Joe Biden, meanwhile, wants all working, middle-class voters in Michigan, both union and non-union, to move to the unemployment line,” Trump adviser Jason Miller said.
