Biden is asked if he thinks he will end up in court like Trump and responds to his rival’s claims the trial was ‘political’ and orchestrated by the White House

President Joe Biden has dismissed Donald Trump’s claims that the New York hush money trial was politically motivated and orchestrated by the White House.

“I didn’t know I was that powerful,” Biden joked when asked about it.

The president also said he was not afraid that he would one day appear in court like Trump.

‘Not at all. I didn’t do anything wrong. The system still works,” he said.

Republicans have tried to tie Biden to his son Hunter’s business dealings, claiming they worked together to enrich the family. Biden has repeatedly said he was not involved in his son’s work.

The president, who answered a few questions from Fox News’ Peter Doocy as he left an event celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, also said he had “no idea” whether the conviction would help Trump the elections.

President Joe Biden has dismissed Donald Trump’s claims that the New York hush money trial was politically motivated and orchestrated by the White House.

A new DailyMail.com poll after the conviction shows that Trump had gained six points in his race against Biden.

“The other thing: A poll came out. The first poll. Maybe others will be bad. But the poll just came out a while ago [by] the daily email. Does anyone read the Daily Mail? They have a good poll. I like today,” Trump said at his press conference on Friday.

‘The Daily Mail just came out with a poll and it says Trump has risen six points in the last twelve hours. Six points since this happened. Who thought this could happen,” Trump said to applause from his supporters gathered at Trump Tower.

‘Because the people in our country know it is a fraud. They know it’s a hoax. They get it. They’re really smart and it’s really something.”

Earlier Friday, Biden called Trump “reckless” and “irresponsible” in his first comments following the ex-president’s historic guilty hush money verdict.

He later grinned but didn’t respond when asked about Trump’s claims that his Democratic opponent is making him a “political prisoner.”

Biden returned to Washington from Rehoboth Beach on Friday to meet with the Belgian prime minister and welcomed the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House.

On Friday morning, the White House announced that the president would address the situation in the Middle East, but Biden began his remarks by first addressing Trump’s assessment — saying he wanted to discuss “what happened in New York City yesterday happened’.

“The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed,” Biden said.

“Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself, it was a state case and not a federal case and it was heard by a jury of twelve citizens, twelve Americans, twelve people like you,” the president continued.

Biden noted that like “millions” of other juries, “this jury was chosen the same way as every jury in America.”

“There was a trial that Donald Trump’s attorney was a part of, the jury heard five weeks of evidence — five weeks — and after careful deliberation, the jury came to a unanimous verdict,” Biden said.

“They found Donald Trump guilty of all 34 crimes,” the president said.

The Democrat said Trump would also get the chance to appeal “just like everyone else.”

“That’s how the American justice system works,” Biden said.

“And it’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for someone to say this is rigged just because they don’t like the verdict,” the president added.

Biden pointed out that the justice system has endured for nearly 250 years and must be “respected.”

“And we should never allow anyone to tear it down, it’s that simple,” the president said.

“That’s America, that’s who we are, that’s who we always will be,” Biden said, adding a “God willing” at the end.

Trump has insisted that the 34 crimes are the result of a politically motivated prosecution to interfere in the 2024 election, where he will again face Biden in the vote.

Most of the Republican Party has sided with Trump and complains about the unfairness of the case.
