President Joe Biden did not answer questions on Monday on his way to the Oval Office after returning from an 11-day vacation, but he did kiss First Lady Jill Biden before starting his workday.
The Bidens returned to the White House after spending some time at their beach house in Rehoboth and their home in Wilmington, Delaware.
The president made few public remarks during his vacation and didn’t weigh in on the big news that happened while he was away from the White House: Donald Trump was indicted in Washington DC on four federal charges related to trying to get the 2020 election results and Devon Archer , their son Hunter’s former business partner, testified before Congress about Hunter’s dealings with foreign companies.

On Monday, President Biden helped the first lady disembark from Marine One and then kissed her. The couple then broke up – Biden went to the Oval Office and Jill Biden went to the White House residence.
In the afternoon he receives the World Series champion Houston Astros at the White House. Jill Biden will host a cybersecurity summit related to education issues before the start of the new school year.
The president will depart later Monday for a four-day trip to the west coast, where he will speak about his climate policy amid the record heat wave and tout his Inflation Reduction Act, which included climate investments.
He will also stop at the Grand Canyon in Arizona, where he will name a new national monument.
He will also spend Tuesday in Arizona, where Phoenix experienced record heat in July, before traveling to neighboring New Mexico the following day. He’s going to Utah on Thursday to talk about veterans programs.
The Bidens spent the weekend in Wilmington – their first visit there since May. The Secret Service had made security upgrades to their home.
While in their hometown, the couple dined at the Firestone Golf Club with Biden’s sister Valerie Biden Owens. President Biden also attended church and played golf.
The Bidens also spent a week at their $2 vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, leisurely biking on the beach and even went on one date night complete with dinner and a movie.

The Bidens purchased their home in Rehoboth Beach, a popular Atlantic Ocean resort town, in 2017. The 4,786-square-foot home features six bedrooms plus five bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, three fireplaces, and numerous decks and porches.
The couple has installed an in-ground swimming pool, and it even has an outdoor dog washing station for their German Shepherd Commander.

The popular boardwalk has shops, food stands and all the ice cream the president – who is known for his sweet treats – could want.
But security concerns kept him from the popular main road.
Instead, he went to church. He went to the beach. He cycled. And he even caught a wink after he and Jill took a nighttime walk on the beach to see the super moon lighting up the night sky.
And they enjoyed the sunny skies during their week-long vacation.
“Hard to complain about this weather,” Biden told the press about his trip.

Biden cycled nearly every day of his vacation, whizzing around the 5-mile loop at Gordon’s Pond — a popular bike path near his home. Jill Biden was often with him.
Locals who biked, ran and walked the trail were swept by the Secret Service when Biden was training. A crowd waited at the entrance to wave at him as he drove by.
Twice during their downtime, the Bidens traveled to the public beach near their home, where crowds of onlookers were stopped by a ring of Secret Service agents.
Phones were held up to capture the pair chilling on the beach. A few people even got snaps of Biden without his shirt on Sunday — images that quickly went viral on social media.
Later in the week, Biden was caught napping on the beach after a night out with the first lady.
He was also seen taking calls and looking at his iPhone. At one point, he handed it to the first lady to show her something on it.
Jill Biden continued reading the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Demon Copperhead, which the book-loving first lady was reading in her spare time. She also made sure to stock up on some sunscreen and even took a walk to the water.

The pair lazed on the beach after their date night on Tuesday, where the Bidens had a seafood meal at Matt’s Fish Camp before heading to the local theater to see Oppenheimer, the movie about the man who developed the nuclear bomb.
The film is a summer hit that attracts a lot of attention in the award ceremony.
“It was riveting,” Biden told reporters after he finished watching the three-hour epic.
They ended the evening with a romantic walk on the beach to see the supermoon, which is when a full moon occurs near the point the moon is closest to Earth in its monthly orbit. The president had put his arm around the first lady.
