President Joe Biden said Thursday he was not following Donald Trump’s appearance in court as the former president prepares to face four federal charges related to attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
“No,” Biden told CNN on a bike ride while continuing his vacation in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, when asked if he would follow the charges against Trump.
The president cycled every day of his week-long hiatus in the beach town where he and wife Jill own a $2 million beach house. In addition to cycling, the Bidens also enjoyed reading on the beach and even went on a date night complete with dinner and a movie.
Meanwhile, Trump is scheduled to arrive at a courthouse in Washington DC at 4 p.m. as the nation’s capital prepares for possible chaos by erecting barriers and fences.

A grand jury voted to indict Trump on conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy against citizens’ rights, obstruction and attempted obstruction of official proceedings, and witness tampering.
The 45-page indictment says Trump was “determined to stay in power” despite “losing” the presidency to Biden.
Trump and his co-conspirators “knowingly used false claims of election fraud” to try to “undermine legitimate election results and alter election votes” to bring down Joe Biden, the indictment said.
Trump already faces 40 federal charges in Florida related to his handling of sensitive government documents after leaving office, and will face trial in New York next year for falsifying business records after making a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The White House has not commented on any of the previous indictments, noting that they do not comment on pending legal matters.
Biden is enjoying his vacation, touring around on his bike and even taking a nap on the beach on Wednesday.
As the first lady read beside him, President Biden reclined his beach chair to lounge mode and snoozed in the sun after an all-night date with his wife.

First lady Jill Biden reads as President Biden turns a blind eye
Biden caught a wink after he and Jill took a nighttime walk on the beach on Tuesday to see the supermoon shining on the water.
The duo sat under a blue umbrella on Wednesday as crowds of onlookers were restrained by a ring of Secret Service agents.
Phones were held up to capture the pair chilling on the beach.
The president kept his shirt on, unlike an earlier beach visit where onlookers caught him topless and the photos of the 80-year-old went viral.
But he was seen taking calls and looking at his iPhone. At one point, he handed it to the first lady to show her something on it.
Jill Biden continued reading the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Demon Copperhead, which the book-loving first lady was reading in her spare time. She also made sure to stock up on some sunscreen and even took a walk to the water.

The couple lazed after their date night on the beach, where the Bidens had a seafood meal at Matt’s Fish Camp before heading to the local theater to see Oppenheimer, the movie about the man who developed the atomic bomb.
“It was riveting,” Biden told reporters after he finished watching the three-hour epic.
They ended their date night with a romantic walk on the beach to see the supermoon, which is when a full moon occurs near the point the moon is closest to Earth in its monthly orbit. The president had put his arm around the first lady.
