Biden falls and trips while he is president

It wasn’t until two months into his term that President Joe Biden caused concern by tripping and falling on the steps of Air Force One.

Since then, it has been a downward trend when it comes to incidents where the oldest president in US history lost his balance or fell to the ground.

Biden, 80, will hit the campaign trail to convince most Americans — and even many Democrats — that he’s up for the job a second time.

And his latest fall at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, where he had to be helped back to his feet, will raise even more questions.

a Washington Post-ABC News A poll conducted in May found that only a third of Americans believe Biden is physically healthy enough for the job and six in 10 said he lacks the mental acuity.

Doctors have determined he is healthy, but have said his gait remains ‘stiff’ and it could get worse over time.

Age has already become a central issue in the 2024 campaign, with Republican contender Nikki Haley calling for all politicians over 75 – including 76-year-old Donald Trump – to be subject to “competence tests.”

DailyMail.com has broken down some of the incidents that have sparked concerns about Biden.

MARCH 2021: Biden stumbles up the stairs when boarding Air Force One

Biden, then 78, was boarding the plane at Joint Base Andrews for a flight to Atlanta just before noon when he tripped.

He grabbed onto the railing, held his ground, and kept going, but lost his footing a second time, then a third time.

On the third draft he fell to his knees. He rose again and carried up the stairs before saluting at the top and disappearing into the plane.

Once on the plane, White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters he was “100 percent okay.”

The White House blamed the wind. But it wasn’t the only time he had trouble navigating the stairs that were a pain for his predecessors, including Gerald Ford.

During a visit to Austria in 1975, Ford’s knee gave way and he fell down the stairs of Air Force One.

JUNE 2022: Biden falls off his bicycle in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Biden was with Jill at his beach house for the weekend when he went for a bike ride and stopped briefly to answer questions from the press.

He was stopped in front of a group of reporters when he fell sideways and hit the asphalt.

He could be heard lying on the ground for 10 seconds before being helped by the Secret Service.

The White House later said his foot got caught in a pedal while trying to dismount and he was not injured.

MAY 2022: Biden nearly falls while climbing the steps of Air Force One on his way to Illinois

Biden was on his way to Illinois to discuss the recent fall in inflation — but still at its highest level in 40 years — when he slipped again when he entered Air Force One.

However, he managed to regain his composure and did not touch the ground.

Biden is known to pride himself on staying in shape.

He works out with a trainer every morning, with an emphasis on weights and strength training.

He is an avid cyclist and regularly drives through his home in Delaware.

And during the work day, he will often step outside for some fresh air and a walk around the grounds, often accompanied by his German Shepherd puppy, Commander, who he will welcome into the family in December 2021.

MAY 2023: Biden trips while walking on the steps at Japan’s Itsukushima Shrine

Biden stumbled as he descended the steps of the Itsukushima Shrine in his rush to greet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

The president was running late – all the other G7 leaders had arrived on Miyajima Island and were waiting for him to begin the tour of the sacred site – when he tripped and caught himself before falling.

Moving on as if the slip hadn’t happened, he and Kishida joined the rest of the heads of state to see the iconic “floating” torii gate.

The evening on the famous island, known for its wild deer, marked the end of a long first day at the summit.

After the tour, the world leaders – the leaders of the United States, Japan, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the European Union – had a private dinner on the island.
