Biden dodges questions about his upcoming 80th birthday during radio interview

President Joe Biden, 79, dodged questions about his 80th birthday and eligibility for office on Sunday as he finalized midterm exams.

While performing at the Willie Moore Jr. Show downplayed Biden’s age, saying he “can’t even say that number,” meaning 80.

His deflection came just hours after he nearly fell off the podium at a New York rally for Governor Kathy Hochul.

Biden said in the interview, which was taped on Sunday but released Monday, that he still feels like he is 50, rather than the significantly higher number he actually is.

President Joe Biden, 79, has averted questions about his age and suitability for office in recent weeks

Moore Jr. the president had asked what 80-year-old Biden would tell 50-year-old Biden if he could talk to him.

“That I’m still 50,” Biden joked.

He continued, saying that the upcoming milestone feels as surreal as it can fly.

“I don’t feel it any more than I get out of here — behind this desk and fly,” he said, seemingly trying to express his disbelief on his 80th birthday.

At the time of his inauguration in 2021, Biden was already the oldest elected president at 78.

Despite his age, he has repeatedly redoubled his intentions to run for a second term in 2024.

“There’s so much we can do, and we’re just getting started,” Biden said.

In another conversation Monday, Biden also referred to a possible second term. However, it appears that he has tried to name the second half of the first term.

“Look, if we can hold out, we’ll be in incredible shape. Imagine what we can do in the second term if we get control — and we keep control,” he said.

Just hours before his radio statements, Biden nearly fell catastrophically at a meeting with Governor Hochul in Yonkers.

“Oops, on a – hmm – it’s black. Anyway,” Biden said after he nearly fell.

“I know I don’t look like that, but I’ve been around for a while,” Biden joked to the crowd gathered at Sarah Lawrence College, a private liberal arts college.

Biden had to catch himself at one point during the rally when he tripped over something on the podium and nearly fell.

A few weeks ago, Biden himself commented on voters’ concerns about his age.

The president said it is “totally legitimate” for Americans to question his eligibility for office and a second term.

“I think it’s legitimate to be concerned about someone’s age, including mine. I think that’s perfectly legitimate,” the president said.

“I think the best way to make a judgment is to look at me. Am I slowing down? I’m going at the same pace,” he said a few weeks ago.

Biden has not yet formally run for a second term.

‘I can’t even say how old I’ll be. I can’t even get it out of my mouth,” Biden told MSNBC.

‘I am in good health. All my, everything physically about me is still functioning well and also mentally. So you know, I understand people wanted to ask that question.’

Last week, Biden said his son Beau Biden died in Iraq while he was caught calling the war in Ukraine the war in Iraq while making comments in Fort Lauderdale

Another blow to the president came in the form of an op-ed published in the Washington Post last week calling for President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to drop out of the 2024 race “in the interest of the country.” .

Columnist George F. Will pointed to a slew of Biden blunders and verbal blunders as reason enough why “Joe Biden shouldn’t look for another term.”

“Democrats should immediately face that fact, and this: An Everest of evidence shows Vice President Harris is absolutely unqualified to be considered his successor.”

That op-ed comes just a day after Biden messed up his words during a campaign stop in Florida, where he confused the U.S. war in Iraq and the Russian war in Ukraine — then confused again by saying that son Beau died in the war in Iraq when, in 2015 he even died of brain cancer.

The op-ed first addressed one of Biden’s blunders that Will believed went unnoticed.

Will wrote that Biden did not sign the $426 billion student loan forgiveness into law, as the president recently claimed.

In August, Biden announced that he had decided to cancel $10,000 in student loans for those earning less than $125,000 annually, or even $20,000 for individuals in the same income bracket who were also Pell Grant recipients.

However, a federal appeals court has temporarily blocked Biden’s plan, creating uncertainty for millions of borrowers. But for now, the website is live and accepting applications.

But in Wednesday’s op-ed, Will made his point that the loan waiver was not something accomplished by “a bill” Biden had signed.

Biden wasn’t just beautifying his performance again. This isn’t just one of his verbal fender benders,” he wrote. “There is no less than staggering explanation for his complete confusion. Which voice? Who voted?’

He continued: “After repeated unilateral extensions of the moratorium on loan repayments until election season, Biden has unilaterally implemented the windfall for millions of voters. Congress was not involved in this cataract of Treasury money, in violation of the Constitution’s credit clause.”

“It’s frightening that Biden doesn’t know or remember what he’s done recently regarding a hugely important policy,” he wrote. He should be presumed to be prone to future episodes of similar bewilderment. He should leave the public stage on January 20, 2025.”

Last Tuesday, Biden said again that his son Beau Biden died in Iraq while he was caught calling the war in Ukraine the war in Iraq while making remarks in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“Inflation is a global problem right now,” the president said. “There is a war in Iraq and the impact on oil and what Russia is doing. Excuse me, the war in Ukraine.’

“I think about Iraq, because that’s where my son died — because he died,” Biden explained at the time.

Beau Biden, who served as Attorney General of Delaware and in the Delaware National Guard in the Iraq War, died of brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 46 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
