Biden CABINET members in crisis talks over him dropping out as second Democratic senator demands he quit: Walls close in for Joe as top administration officials discuss ‘dim’ election prospects

The dire assessments of President Joe Biden’s political prospects are coming not just from rival camps, but also from within his own Cabinet, where people he has tapped have debated whether his staffers should intervene.

There have been “private conversations” among unnamed Cabinet members about “whether now is the time” for advisers closest to Biden to talk about the dim chances he has of retaining the White House, Bloomberg News reported.

Members of Biden’s team didn’t try to persuade him themselves. Instead, they appeared to be engaged in some of the same conversations that party insiders and loyalists across the country are having: whether Biden will no longer be able to convince enough of the public after the debate that he can win a second term, according to the report, citing people familiar with the matter.

Rather than taking action themselves, they hoped that other key members of Biden’s inner circle, including his family and staff, would approach the president honestly about his position.

The new focus for Biden comes as another high-profile figure, Senator Jon Tester of Montana, a Democrat facing a tough re-election bid, has called for Biden’s resignation.

Members of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet have held private discussions about whether “now is the time” for key advisers to intervene regarding his declining political prospects

That came after a Democrat in the House of Representatives told DailyMail.com that the message from top party figures about Biden’s political danger is starting to reach the president.

“Montanans have put their trust in me to do what’s right, and that’s a responsibility I take seriously. I’ve worked with President Biden to make Montana stronger, and I’ve never been afraid to confront him when he’s wrong,” Tester said, the Daily Montanan reported.

“And while I appreciate his commitment to public service and to our country, I believe President Biden should not seek re-election for another term.”

The last time the issue of Biden’s Cabinet came up since his disastrous debate was when press reports said he hadn’t even convened his full Cabinet since October 2023 and that the meetings had been very forced.

“The president is the nominee of his party, which won 14 million votes in the Democratic primary. He is running for re-election and that will not change until he is re-elected,” he said. TJ Ducklo, Biden-Harris 2024 Senior Advisor for Communications.

Another shoe dropped on Thursday when a four-page letter to Biden was leaked, written by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), another prominent Democrat. Raskin compared him to aging Boston Red Sox pitcher Pedro MartĂnez, who stayed on the mound too long during the 2003 American League Championship Series against the rival New York Yankees.

On Thursday, Congressman Jim Costa (D-Calif.) also said it was time for Biden to “pass the torch,” despite being “an incredible president” for the “good of the country.”

Democratic officials have repeatedly indicated that if Biden were to step back, the party would likely rally behind Vice President Kamala Harris, despite her own struggles to achieve high public approval ratings.
