Biden again calls his VP ‘President Harris’ and then mispronounces Kamala’s name as he welcomes Vegas Golden Knights Stanley Cup champions to White House
Joe Biden called his Vice President Kamala Harris “president” again and later – again – messed up the pronunciation of her name.
The presidential flubs came as he welcomed the Las Vegas Gold Knights Stanley Cup champions to the White House on Monday and are part of a series of mistakes on his part when it comes to his running mate.
“President Harris is here to make sure we do it right,” Biden said as he kicked off the celebratory event.
Biden’s propensity for gaffes is being closely watched as the 2024 election approaches. Donald Trump, who is leading the race for the Republican nomination, has repeatedly questioned Biden’s health and mental capabilities.

At 80, Biden is the oldest president in American history. His doctor has given him a clean bill of health so he can run for a second term.
But he has also stumbled several times, literally stumbling and even falling a few times, in addition to his verbal blunders.
Over the past two years, he has given away his job to his second-in-command several times.
In January, he talked about how “President Harris” was leading the immigration effort, and in October he called her “President Harris” when he wished her a happy birthday.
And there were more.
“President Harris is a proud Howard alum,” Biden said in a speech in South Carolina last December.
He did the same during a press conference on coronavirus vaccines in March 2021. That same month, he referred to Harris as “the first lady.”
President Biden has repeatedly defended his ability to govern the country, but concedes that his age is a legitimate issue. Trump is 77 – just four years younger than Biden.
“I think it’s legitimate to worry about everyone’s age, including mine. I think that’s completely legitimate,” Biden said in October.
“But the best way to make a judgment is to, you know, look at me.” You know, am I slowing down? Am I not at the same pace? Or, you know, and that old joke, you know – everyone talks about the new, you know, the ’70s, ’50s, you know all that stuff.’
‘I don’t want to curse myself, I’m in good health. Everything about me is still functioning well physically, so you know, and mentally as well,” the president noted.

Biden was in a jovial mood at the Golden Knights event, making several jokes and accepting a gold hockey stick from the championship team, which he waved to the crowd.
Biden noted that Vegas has had a string of championships recently, including their women’s basketball team, which won back-to-back WNBA titles.
He then turned to football and asked them to see if their football team, the Vegas Raiders, couldn’t beat the Philadelphia Eagles, his wife Jill Biden’s home team. The first lady is a passionate Philly fan.
“Just don’t bring the Eagles,” he said, “because if that happens, I’m going to get divorced. I married a girl from Philadelphia.”
And he even made a joke about the polls, noting that the Golden Knights’ owners had faith and predicted a playoff run in three years and a Stanley Cup in six years. I need to talk to them because I don’t pay much attention to the polling data either.”
The audience burst out laughing.
Biden and his re-election campaign have pushed back against polling data showing him trailing Donald Trump.
There was poll of The New York Times and Siena College Last month it emerged that the president was following Trump in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Biden leads only in Wisconsin, by 2 percentage points. Biden won all six states in the 2020 election.

President Biden arrives at the event honoring the Stanley Cup champions with Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone
When it was his turn to speak, Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone was visibly nervous about speaking before the commander-in-chief.
“We all come here in awe of this beautiful place and have so much respect for you and the office you hold,” Stone said. He seemed overcome with nerves before he calmed down.
“It’s a lot easier to play hockey in front of 20,000 people than this – I can confirm that,” he added as the crowd cheered him on.
The team presented Biden with a jersey and a gold hockey stick.
“It’s an honor to speak not only on behalf of my teammates, but on behalf of the entire organization and the city of Las Vegas – obviously a great city, the entertainment capital of the world,” Stone said.
“Say that with all due respect to Delaware, Mr. President,” he added, poking fun at Biden’s home state.
The Golden Knights won the best-of-seven championship series against the Florida Panthers 4-1 in June, sparking celebrations along the famed Vegas Strip.
