BGT’s Harry Churchill, 11, surprised by Queen guitarist and idol Sir Brian May with offer to duet

He may have missed out on a place in the grand final of Britain’s Got Talent, but his career is just getting started.

And 11-year-old guitarist Harry Churchill was surprised with an incredible offer to perform this week at London’s Palladium from his idol Sir Brian May, 75.

The youngster was left speechless after landing on a zoom conversation with the iconic Queen star, who praised the teen’s musical talents.

After waiting to talk to his agent, Sir Brian appeared on screen and said, ‘Okay, Harry. The bad news is I’m not your agent,” leaving the young rocker sputtering, “Oh my god.”

Sir Brian continued, ‘I just really wanted to talk to you. I was thinking, I wonder what we could do, because the show is one thing, but it’s not all there is to it. And I had a crazy idea.’

The Bohemian Rhapsody hitmaker explained that he was planning a tribute show for his own hero, James Burton, a guitarist who was “one of the first to bend strings like us.”

Add: “So he affects all of us.”

After inviting Harry to the event, Sir Brian then offered the teen the chance to perform for James Burton, 83, who will be attending the event.

Saying, “I thought you’d enjoy coming, and I also thought you’d enjoy playing,” he said.

In utter shock, Harry was thrilled to get the chance to share a virtual high-five with the pair.

The young musician, from Devon, auditioned for the ITV talent show with a medley in which he played guitar behind his back and caught the eye of Sir Brian.

During his semi-final appearance, he performed a Back To The Future set dressed as Marty McFly from the movie, but missed out on a spot in Sunday’s grand final.
