BGT viewers ‘OBSESSED’ by show’s ‘brilliantly random’ Coronation Street intro

Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent were ‘obsessed’ with the opening of the Coronation Street-themed show on Sunday.

During filming in Manchester, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly lost to the judges as they explored the soap’s famous set.

They encountered a slew of famous faces and later found Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli at Roy’s Rolls café.

While racing to Twitter, a viewer jokingly asked if Weatherfield’s serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) would pick one of the jurors as his next victim.

While another viewer, fond of the hysterical sketch, wrote: ‘Corrie’s sketch was brilliant!’.

The sketch saw the presenters wondering around the cobblestones as Dec admitted to tracking Simon Cowell’s phone.

The duo ran into Corrie’s Sally Metcalfe who looked quite shaken. Ant said, “Ant McPartlin, former rapper, current TV presenter and two-time back of the year award.”

Dec quickly stepped in to say he was just “second place,” but Sally didn’t seem to pay much attention when she told him he was “on her foot” and walked off.

The clip was cut to show judges Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli all sitting around a small square table in Roy’s Rolls cafe.

Dressed in their finery, Amanda looked incredible in a bold red form-fitting dress and pulled her long blonde locks up into a neat high ponytail.

Alesha shone in a pink number and styled her dark locks back in a stylish updo, while Bruno cut a smart figure in a black leather jacket.

Meanwhile, Simon rocked his usual dark crew neck jumper as he ordered his “usual” from Shona Platt behind the counter.

Shonda later brought over a plate of toast and spaghetti letters with only the letters ‘BGT’, Simon said ‘Just the way I like it’.

Meanwhile, Ant and Dec were spotted outside the famous Rovers pub when they bumped into Kirk Sutherland as they got out.

The pair asked if the “BGT judges were in,” but Kirk looked shocked and replied, “Are you laughing now, you’d tell me Ant and Dec are coming.”

‘Anyway, where are your parents, kids shouldn’t be hanging out in the pub’.

The ITV presenters continued to walk the cobblestones and saw ‘Simon Cowell’s Rolls Royce outside Roy’s Rolls’, and laughed to themselves about the tongue twister.

‘They are very bossy’: The presenters burst through the cafe door and found Simon, Amanda, Alesha and Bruno. They told them, ‘We’re late for auditions, let’s go, go, go!’

Beaming, Ant and Dec said, “Wait a minute, are we on Coronation Street!”

The fun video went back in to the judges as Shonda asked, “How was your food Simon.”

He looked serious and said ‘I didn’t like it, I loved it’.
