Reuben Owen put his skills as a rookie mechanic to the test on Channel 5’s Beyond the Yorkshire Farm on Tuesday night.
Viewers were treated to heartwarming scenes of the enthusiastic 18-year-old farmhand as he refurbished a green three-wheeled Reliant Robin and raced it through the Yorkshire Dales with his new girlfriend Sarah Dow and best friend Tom McWhirter.
Delighted with his work, Reuben was seen grinning as he sat behind the wheel as he raced past the dry stone walls typical of the area as they flew over the winding roads of the countryside.
Reuben took off in the pouring rain, exclaiming in the car, “We got her to talk! It’s terrifying!”, before adding, “We’re going up to 50 miles an hour!”
Tom complimented his friend Reuben on his motorcycle crafts while Sarah smiled as he sat in the middle of the backseat.

Beyond the Yorkshire Farm: Reuben & Clive is a spin-off series from Our Yorkshire Farm, with the current series centering on Reuben and his father Clive Owen as they work through the challenging winter season.
Amanda Owen and her ex-husband Clive became familiar faces thanks to Our Yorkshire Farm.
But not only the parents of nine children were popular with the home audience, because for many their children – between the ages of 21 and six – turned out to be the real stars of the show.
This was especially true of their eldest son Reuben, who so delighted viewers with his farming savvy that after five seasons on Our Yorkshire Farm he joined the spin-off alongside father Clive, 67.
During the father-and-son duo’s show, they embarked on a business venture; it charted the challenges Reuben faced, supported by his father Clive, best friend Tom and girlfriend Sarah.
Reuben and Sarah – who are believed to have started dating in December 2021 – often share snaps with each other on their Instagram accounts much to the delight of fans.
During Our Yorkshire Farm, viewers saw how Reuben, who grew up on the farm and helped to give birth to lambs, plow fields and hand feed cows from a very young age, got an apprenticeship to learn how to fix tractors .
During their 21-year marriage, Amanda, 48, and Clive welcomed Raven, 21, Reuben, 18, Miles, 16, Edith, 14, Violet, 12, Sidney, 11, Annas, nine, Clemmy, seven, and Nancy, six.

It comes as the fourth ex-wife of the new Yorkshire shepherdess lover Amanda compared the web designer to Henry VIII, claiming he is “ruthless” and “likes the chase.”
Amanda, 48, has had a five-year fling with businessman Robert Davies, 71, the first since her shock split from her Our Yorkshire Farm co-star husband, Clive.
Robert is currently married to Yusami, 56, who was ‘completely blindsided’ when news of the affair broke. She is his fifth wife.
Now Jan Coates, 72, the fourth of his husbands, has told the Daily Mail that he “hasn’t changed in two decades” as he continues to “get married, have an affair and move on.”
His ex-wife revealed that he cheated two years into their marriage, which ended in 2001.
Jan explained: ‘That’s what he does, gets married, has an affair and moves on. He is very charming, but he is also very ruthless in the way he treats people. I think he gets bored easily.
“But if he marries Amanda Owen, he’d be like Henry VIII with six wives and that’s not normal.
He hasn’t changed in two decades. I am not mean or vindictive but I would say he loves chasing women and loves fame and fortune. But maybe they fit together.’

Amanda announced her divorce from Clive, 68, with whom she has nine children, in July shortly after they said their marriage had hit a ‘boulder’.
She has known her new love Robert for at least five years since she recruited him to update her personal website in 2018.
Their friendship is believed to have blossomed through working closely together.
It came after Robert’s fifth wife was left ‘completely blindsided’ after he left her for the TV star, her friends have told MailOnline.
Friends of Yusami have told of her shock after the businessman moved out of the family home and ended their 12-year marriage after she admitted to having an affair.
They say she discovered the relationship last year when she found a love letter to her husband while cleaning his car.
A source close to Yusami said, “She is absolutely heartbroken by what happened. She can’t believe it.
She gave up a career in banking after meeting Rob in Tokyo and he persuaded her to leave all her family and friends in Japan to start a new life with him in the UK.
Now he has left her alone to start a new relationship with Amanda. She’s so upset and lonely.”

Amanda and web designer Mr Davies were pictured together last month and are said to be ‘inseparable’ despite their 23-year age difference.
The source close to Yusami added, “Yasumi had suspected for a while that Robert was up to something. She felt that he wasn’t really there with her and that his head was elsewhere.
“She was cleaning out the car and found a handwritten note. There was no name, but it was pretty obvious who it belonged to.
Yasumi asked Rob for an explanation and he said he had fallen in love with Amanda and they had been seeing each other for five years.
“It was a bolt from the blue for Yasumi. She left Japan to move to the UK for Robert and he just left her.”

They continued, “She knew he had a friendship with Amanda but thought it was nothing more. They went on a clay pigeon shoot together in 2021 and he joined her on her theater tours, but insisted there was nothing more to it.
“It wasn’t until she found the letter that she realized what was happening.”
It is understood that Robert, who has three children from three previous marriages, ended the relationship with Amanda in March 2022 after his wife gave him an ultimatum.
But he moved on two months later after rekindling the romance with the Our Yorkshire Farm star.
