‘The revival begins’: Absent Beyonce wins two awards at the BRITS despite missing the ceremony, after bosses refused to shell out £500,000 for the megastar to perform
Beyonce took home two gongs at the BRIT Awards in London on Saturday, despite not being at the star-studded ceremony.
The 41-year-old singer won International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for Break My Soul.
Beyonce, who recently announced her Renaissance World Tour, thanked fans for the praise in pre-recorded video messages.
‘Thank you very much for this incredible recognition. I would like to thank all my friends in Britain for their continued support over the years,” he told fans in his Entertainer of the Year speech.
She added: ‘The Renaissance begins. I’ll see you all on tour. Thank you very much for this honor!

It comes amid claims that Beyonce did not turn up at the event because bosses could not justify a £500,000 bill for a performance and to host her and her entourage in London.
According to Katie Hind of The Daily Mail, “Beyonce and her team wanted several suites at the Corinthia Hotel in central London, and supplies for an entourage of about 40 people to put on their part of the show.”
A source said: ‘The entire production would have cost a fortune. Beyonce and his crew needed a large team, which would have meant flights, hotels, and other costs. It just wasn’t justifiable – the bosses thought the lineup was already brilliant.
Performers at the event included Harry Styles, Stormzy and Lewis Capaldi.
Last month, Beyoncé reportedly accepted a $24 million payment for her performance at Dubai’s new Atlantis the Royal hotel.
Earlier this month, Beyoncé’s fans scrambled to get general release tickets to the Renaissance 2023 world tour as they went on sale.
Beyoncé’s Renaissance 2023 world tour comes six years after her last, the Formation World tour, and will feature songs from her seventh studio album, which contains the hit song Break My Soul.
Hundreds of thousands of his fans poured into virtual advance ticket sales lines last week, with a staggering 400,000 waiting in line for tickets to one of his two London performances.
