Swift and Malone’s emotional Fortnight music video was released on Friday following the release of her highly anticipated album.
The Grammy winner initially uploaded a black-and-white teaser to her fans ahead of the music video’s premiere on Thursday.
The singer was joined not only by Post, but also by Dead Poets Society stars Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, who made surprise cameos.
Moments before the video started, a countdown clock appeared on the screen with the sound of typewriters clicking in the background.
Then a title card appeared with ‘Fortnight’ mimicking the beginning of a silent movie.
The video then cut to Taylor lying on a bed without a mattress while chained to the railing. The bed itself was placed high on a wall in a large room that appeared to be in an asylum.
Then a doctor walked in upside down against the ceiling, holding a tray of medications, with a bottle of pills labeled “Forget Him.”
Taylor wore a strapless dress by Australian designer Toni Maticevski for the video, which featured a dramatic neckline and fitted bodice.

The skirt section featured layered details and a thigh-high slit on the left side.
She paired the stunning piece with sheer white gloves and a custom vintage diamond watch choker from Joseph Saidian and Sons.
Taylor opted for a smoky shadow around her eyes and a bold shade on her lips, and her eyebrows were covered while a thinner brow was added, similar to the 1920s style.
In the video, Taylor is seen running towards Post Malone and the two shared an embrace on an open road in the middle of the desert. Dark, graying clouds could be seen above them.
A short montage showed the couple cozying up as they shared some sweet moments. At one point, the rapper took Taylor’s face in his hands, causing her to flash a happy smile.
The singers looked into each other’s eyes as Post Malone’s tattoos were no longer visible on his face in the moving scene. A tornado of papers swirled around them as the singer held out her hands to Malone.
The music video jumped to Taylor back in the asylum while surrounded by doctors, played by Dead Poets Society stars Ethan Hawke and John Charles. Post Malone was also seen as one of the doctors.

Ethan and John began doing what seemed like a form of electroshock therapy on Swift. But Malone turned off the power to save Taylor.
Not long after the music video was released on Friday, Taylor took to her main Instagram page to share a series of behind-the-scenes images.
She also shared a message with her fans about the meaning behind the music video, writing, “When I was writing the Fortnight music video, I wanted to show you the worlds that I saw in my head that served as the backdrop to creating of this music. ‘
‘Almost everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to a certain corner of the album. For me, this video has proven to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it.’
She gushed: “@postmalone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero and I’m so grateful for everything he put into this collaboration.”
“I’m still smiling because I get to work with the coolest guys on the planet, @ethanhawke and @mrjoshcharles (tortured poets, meet your colleagues down the hall, the dead poets).”
