Bad actors have sparked a surge of interest in actress Sydney Sweeney on X.
Scammers have been bombarding the platform with malware links when people search for photos of Sweeney’s famous bust, which was on display bee GLAAD Media Awards Thursday.
The messages contain a link that claims to direct curious users to her explicit photos, but directs people to a site full of malware waiting to infect computers.
Cybersecurity experts said that if you clicked on any of the links hoping Sweeney will put up with everything, you should close the page and immediately install an ad blocker.

The malicious ‘Sydney Sweeney Leak’ campaign was spotted by 404Media earlier this week, but the messages are still flooding Elon Musk’s platform, which has no specific regulations on such content.
The links take users to Linktree sites, where people can create personalized pages for links they want to share on platforms.
The messages also include a blurry video or images of the actress, making it appear as if whoever shared them actually has Sweeney’s nude photos.
404Media discovered that the links redirect users to sites like thaudray.com and waufooke.com, which throw malicious pop-ups upon arrival.
Cybersecurity firm Malwarebyte has warned that people who are redirected to certain sites risk clicking on an “unwanted browser extension or malicious program”.
“Your browser could be redirected to Waufooke.com due to a malware infection on your device, push notifications from malicious sites, or because you are being redirected from another website you visited,” the experts shared in a blog post.
