Channel 10 insiders brace for jobs apocalypse… but at least their CEO has given them something to laugh about in the staff group chat: INSIDE MAIL

Channel Ten Staffers did not know if they had to laugh or cry this week when they saw the big cheese of the network Beverley Mcgarvey publicly bragging about how great everything is on the network at the moment …

So they both did both.

Inside Mail, the morale belongs to the forgotten child of commercial television in the midst of an imminent takeover of the parent company of the network, Paramount Global, in the US and the ‘efficiency’ and ‘restructuring’ that will undoubtedly bring along with it.

Which naturally means widespread cuts and job losses.

So ten staff members were surprised to see that McGarvey offered a little light lighting in the form of a puff piece in the Australian on Monday in which she was optimistic about the future of the station and offered all kinds of clarified industrial insights.

Some were furious, others cheerfully amused – anyway, they all shared their favorite McGarveyisms between the Buzzy Pyrmont Group chats.

A much cited, mind -expanding observation that entails in the immaterial interview with James Manning When McGarvey came helpfully explained how TV reviews worked.

“Sometimes when there is a big evening of TV, our ratings actually go up because more people watch TV,” she trusted.

“They are channel hopping, sampling what’s on different networks.”

Bea, don’t give the industrial secrets away in one go – save what for the memoirs!

Others made jokes that her loggee, exaggerated, what-the-read-on-the-packet official title took almost four whole lines in the national Broadsheet paper.

(For those who wonder, the mouthful of a name ‘Paramount Australia and the president of New -Zeeland of Network 10 and Head of Streaming and Regional Lead’).

As far as we are concerned, our favorite part was the statement of McGarvey that ‘when you combine the reach of Paramount in Australia on an annual basis, the 94 percent of the population was in 2024 with all our services’.

Ninety -four percent of the population of looking channel 10 and Paramount+? Lol.

Oh, bev. No wonder you have the team in stitches.

That interview with the Australian was of course not the only thing about which Roddelt in the corridors of Ten’s head office.

Before Christmas we reported how network insiders claimed that the newsroom was ‘compromised’ by attending the wife of a presenter editorial meetings.

Narelda JacobS‘ woman Karina NatttPreviously a Greens Powerbroker and now the talent manager of Jacobs, had recently started to appear on the Newsroom floor in Pyrmont.

Moreover, Jacobs would also look for advice on news stories from a close network of influential female friends outside the ten, known as ‘The Clitorati’.

“The Newsroom feels completely compromised and the reputation for independence is being threatened,” said a long time ten employee.

‘For a strange reason [Jacobs] Seems inviolable and nobody knows why.

‘It is an insult to all of us who run a fine line every day – the way that show is organized. They are too afraid of her upstairs to do something about it. ‘
