She is a successful actress while her daughter is a talented actress as well as a writer.

And on Saturday, Beverley Callard, 65, was the proud mom every inch as she stepped outside with her rarely seen daughter Rebecca, 47, at the premiere of her new movie A Bit Of Light.

The duo shared a warm embrace as they posed together for photos on the red carpet at London’s Curzon Soho during the 30th Raindance Film Festival.

Beverley – who played Liz McDonald in Coronation Street for 30 years – looked sharp in a tailored black suit with lace detailing.

Rebecca opted for an understated, high-necked black dress with a bow-neckline, all while looking graceful.

In addition to Rebecca, who shares Corrie star Beverley with first husband Paul Atkinson, the soap actress is also mother to Joshua Collard, 33, who she shares with ex-husband Steve Collard.

The new film is an adaptation of Rebecca’s self-penned play of the same name about recovering alcoholic Ella and her efforts to build bridges with her estranged children.

Directed by True Blood star Stephen Moyer and starring Moyer’s wife Anna Paquin, as well as Tim Cullingworth-Hudson, Youssef Kerkour and Ray Winstone starring Ella’s father, who struggles with alcohol addiction himself.

The premiere comes after Beverley previously said she has no plans to return to Coronation Street, saying she had “no life” while working on the soap.

Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, Beverley noted that the scripts aren’t “as good” compared to how they were when she first set foot on the cobblestones in 1989.

She explained: “As an actor, you’re afraid to say no to a job, but the scripts came and I thought I just had to really trust my instincts.

“It’s not nine to five, it’s seven to ten at night and it’s six days a week, it’s really packed and you don’t have a life, like it was a lot harder years ago when the cast was smaller .’

Speaking of current writing about the soap, she added: “Personally I don’t like the scripts very much now, I think we are overloaded with soap operas, which is a shame.”

The former soap star went on to say that casting directors can often be “snooty” when it comes to scripts, sharing how she’s passed on scripts since she left Corrie.

Beverley added that on reflection, she sometimes doubts whether she should have gone for the part.

Last year, the actress confirmed that she has ‘closed the door’ on the ITV soap ‘forever’.

Beverley admitted she has no intention of ever reprising the role and has given Coronation Street bosses permission to kill her character.

Speaking to Sunday Express magazine, she said: ‘It was a huge decision for me to make, but I believe I did it for all the right reasons. I felt that Liz had run her course. I’d hate to cheat on fans… I felt like she was lost.”
