Betty White has been accused of ‘fat shaming’ actress Sally Struthers in an alleged shock incident.
All In The Family star Struthers, 77, claimed ‘passive-aggressive’ White – who died in 2021 aged 99 – made a disparaging comment as the pair worked on a pilot for a new game show in which they were offered a snack .
Struthers said Monday Let’s talk about that podcast: ‘The plate was placed in the center [by White’s housekeeper]and they were cookies, I think.
“So I grabbed a cookie and she said in front of everyone, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, honey, you don’t need a cookie.’
Struthers said at the time she thought “that’s not nice.”
She said she feels comfortable discussing the alleged incident now that Golden Girls star White is dead: “I know everyone loves her. They loved her so much. They signed petitions to get her to host Saturday Night Live. I know all that.’
Struthers said White’s Golden Girls co-star Bea Arthur was much nicer to her when she guest-starred on the second season of All In The Family.

She said, “Bea Arthur comes in and she’s a force of nature,” adding that she was “dirtier than a drunken sailor” and “put all kinds of expletives into her lines to shock these men.”
White died on December 31, 2021, just weeks before her 100th birthday,
White, who capped a career spanning more than 80 years by becoming America’s darling after Emmy-winning roles in sitcoms, is believed to have died of natural causes at her home.
On December 28, she had tweeted, “My 100th birthday… I can’t believe it’s coming, and People Magazine is celebrating with me! The new issue of @People hits newsstands nationwide tomorrow.”
Writer John Leavitt joked, “You have to admit, it’s excellent comic timing to have an entire magazine dedicated to your 100th birthday on the shelves and then to die before that birthday.”
President Joe Biden paid tribute to the star, tweeting: “Betty White brought a smile to the lips of generations of Americans.
Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, White was regularly seen on television, covering the annual Tournament of Rose Parade and appearing on game shows such as Match Game and Password.
She married Password host Allen Ludden, her third and last husband, in 1963.

White, who had no children, worked for animal causes. She once turned down a role in the film As Good as It Gets because of a scene in which a dog was thrown down a garbage chute.
“I didn’t have a great experience with her.”
