POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) is a blood circulation disorder that causes the heart to beat faster than normal after going from sitting to standing.

Patients diagnosed with POTS may experience rapid heart rate, low blood pressure, fainting, and dizziness.

The reality star first took to Instagram, writing: “There have been some comments about my face looking different in recent videos so here’s why.”

“I’m bloated, bloated and I’ve gained 4lbs in 3 days because my body is desperately holding on to whatever water it can get,” the star explained.

She continued: ‘A while ago I shared what has been a serious battle with POTS. This is an autoimmune disorder that seems to have dramatically exacerbated since COVID. I know there are a lot of you out there, so thanks for all the info. Without a doubt, it is a condition that must be managed.

‘I suffer from severe chronic dehydration. I have always experienced extremely low blood pressure and dehydration, but it has gotten exponentially worse.’

“I try really hard to stay hydrated, put in an IV, and haven’t had a drink for 6 months. I’m basically on the case,” Frankel added.

‘The altitude and a dry climate (in my favorite place in the world to practice my favorite sport) present additional challenges.’

At the end of his statement, he reminded his followers to think twice before commenting on someone’s appearance: ‘PS. When you comment on someone’s physical appearance, you may not know exactly what they are enduring personally, physically, and emotionally.

In a follow-up video, she got emotional talking about her only daughter, who she shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy.

‘I want to go on vacation to Aspen and take her snowboarding. I want to live a long life because I had a child later in life.

“I’m absolutely scared because I don’t like her doing everything she can to be completely healthy, and yet sometimes this is winning and it’s annoying,” she added.

“I never do this, but I don’t want it to seem like I always have it under control. Definitely not,’ Bethenny wrote in the caption.

POSTURAL TACHYCARDIA SYNDROME (POTS)

Postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) is an abnormal increase in heart rate that occurs after sitting or standing.

Some typical symptoms include dizziness and fainting.

PoTS affects a variety of people, but is most common in girls and women ages 15 to 50.

Some people have mild symptoms, while others find that the condition affects their quality of life.

PoTS often gradually improves over time, and there are some medications and self-care measures that can help.
