Beth ‘Betty’ Tudehope: Young mum who rubbed shoulders with celebrities suddenly dies after being struck down by a cruel disease: ‘You were the bestest friend a gal could have’
A former Master Chef contestant has paid tribute to her best friend who died suddenly after succumbing to cancer.
Beth “Betty” Tudehope, a young mother and director of human resources at Colgate-Palmolive, was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in 2022.
Celebrity chef Justine Schofield posted on her Instagram on Sunday evening her heartbreak that Betty had passed away at the age of 38.
“I will love you forever, my beautiful Betty. You were the best friend a girl could ever have,” she wrote.
‘I will never forget you. Rest in peace.’

The chef showed off a series of photos of her and her best friend together over the years and asked her Instagram followers to donate to Bowel Cancer Australia (pictured a pregnant Justine Schofield and Betty Tudehope)
The Master Chef star, who now has her own show Everyday Gourmet, urged her followers to donate to Bowel Cancer Australia.
Many of Schofield’s famous friends were also quick to show their support.
“Thinking of you Justine,” The Block star Neale Whitaker wrote.
Fellow chef Gabriel Gate wrote in French: “Oh, that’s sad Justine.”
Sam Mac from Sunrise said: “I’m so sorry to hear this, Juzzy. Sending great love.”
Mrs Tudehop’s sister, Helen Tudehope, started an online fundraising campaign in September last year to help the family battle their cancer diagnosis.
“We are raising money to support Beth’s journey to attend the Hope4Cancer Institute in Mexico, in combination with conventional medicine,” she wrote.
The young mother (pictured) underwent major surgery in 2023 to “remove tumors and several affected organs”, with her sister describing her as “brave”.
“For anyone fortunate enough to know Beth, you will agree that she is more than just a sister; “She is Belle’s best mother, most loving daughter, and a wonderful friend to everyone who crosses her path,” she said.
Ms Tudehope said Betty had already had nine months of ‘grueling chemotherapy’ while still working full-time.
“She showed us that cancer can change the path, but it cannot cloud her mind. “She is an inspiration to everyone,” she said.
