The best RAM-9 gear in Modern Warfare 3 is a monster, to say the least, when you learn how to deal with its recoil. Out of the box, the new SMG has a ridiculous rate of fire with excellent mobility and handling stats, so the goal is to improve recoil control while negating as much of the impact on what it already excels at.

It’s still early Modern Warfare 3 Season 2, but it’s safe to say that the RAM-9 has quickly become one of the frontrunners in the SMG category and can be considered one of the best weapons in the world. MW3. We’ve identified the best attachments for this rapid-fire weapon of destruction, meaning you can use this up close and personal or at quite a distance and get both the accuracy and damage you need.

How to unlock the RAM-9 in MW3

To unlock the RAM-9, you’ll need to complete Sector B6 on the Season 2 Battle Pass map. This is only two sectors away from the start, so the fastest route is B1-B3-B6, and you only need 15 battle pass tokens to get there. What’s even better is that the RAM-9 is free, so you don’t have to purchase the Battle Pass with COD Points or real money to get it, which is the same as our best BP50 gear. Once Season 2 is over, you’ll likely be able to get your hands on the RAM-9 via an Armory Unlock Challenge.

Best RAM-9 gear in MW3

This is where the best RAM-9 gear comes in Modern Warfare 3:

• End of a loop: ZEHMN35 Compensated flash concealer
• Walk: Speedway V5 short barrel
• Underrun: SL Skeletal vertical grip
• Back handle: Retort 90 grip tape
• Stock: HVS 3.4 path

As mentioned above, the goal here is to reduce recoil, which most attachments contribute to. The ZEHMN35 muzzle has the added bonus of shortening your radar pings when you fire, sacrificing a bit of ADS speed and bullet speed, while the Speedway V5 barrel does the same thing, but also improves sprint-to-fire speed. But thanks to the SL Skeletal vertical grip, this is negated, and the only real loser here is the hip fire and tactics stance spread. At the back of the gun, the Retort 90 grip tape again usually helps with recoil control as does the HVS 3.4 path.

The RAM-9 has 32 rounds per magazine and a fairly fast reload time, meaning an extended mag attachment isn’t strictly necessary, but if you find yourself running out of bullets too quickly, consider the Speedway V5 barrel to be replaced by one. The iron sights are also quite good on the RAM-9, but if you prefer an optical sight, any standard red dot will do the job.

This is the best class to use with the RAM-9 in Modern Warfare 3:

• Vest: Ninja vest
• Handgun: Renetti
• Tactical: Shock grenade
• Deadly: Throwing knife
• Field upgrade: ACS
• Boots: Stalker Boots
• Acceleration: EOD Padding

With this RAM-9 gear you’ll be running a lot, and there’s nothing worse than having someone know your exact location thanks to your footsteps. Ninja vest is ideal thanks to its ability to eliminate footstep noises. It also makes you immune to movement reducing effects, gives you extra Throwing Knife ammo, And restocks these throwing knives every 25 seconds, so you don’t have to worry as much about picking them up.

The Renetti is the best gun in the game, so it’s a logical choice here, and the same goes for the Shock grenade. It is clear that we are for the Throwing knife as the lethal option, while our favorite field upgrade is the ACS to help you achieve these objectives. If you’re playing a mode where the ACS isn’t useful, like Search & Destroy or Team Deathmatch, swap it for a Trophy system or Oppression of me.

The Stalker boots are hugely useful if you’re on the go and often aiming for the sights, although the lightweight boots, climbing shoes and running sneakers are all useful too if you prefer something a little different. EOD padding protects you from explosive effects such as grenades, or you can opt for one Tac mask for greater protection against stun and flash grenades. Alternatively, you can consider the Ghost T/V Camo for UAV protection.
