The Kastov LSWintroduced in Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 (along with the DTIR 30-06) has a “best in class rate of fire and Tac Stance accuracy” compared to the other LMGs (light machine guns) in the game.
However, to make the most of this LMG, which can “tear enemies to pieces at close to medium range,” you need to use the right attachments.
It can’t really compete with weapons like the TAQ Evolvere or Bruen Mk9 at range, but if you want to blow enemies away up close, this is the weapon for the job. On top of its high rate of fire and impressive accuracy, it also has decent damage and a 100 round magazine, so you can lay down a lot of suppressive fire.
Here is the best Kastov LSW gear in Modern Warfare 3how to unlock the weapon in Season 6 and which class is best to use with it.
How to Unlock the Kastov LSW in Modern Warfare 3
To unlock the Kastov LSW in Modern Warfare 3 Season 6: You must complete cell nine on the Battle Pass map. The fastest route is through boxes 1-3-5-9, checking off each box in turn (you can also check off box eight instead of box five if you’d rather get the rewards, as they both take you to the same place).
As always, the new weapons in the Battle Pass are free, so you don’t have to spend any money as long as you have enough tokens.
Best Kastov LSW gear in Modern Warfare 3
This is the best Kastov LSW gear in Modern Warfare 3:
- Snout: ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider
- Walk: Bombast T54 short barrel
- Underflow: Bruen Pivot vertical grip
- Rear grip: Demo VIP-09 handle
- Optics: SZ Lonewolf Optics
Since the Kastov LSW is focused on close quarters combat, we don’t really need to improve that aspect of the weapon with our attachments. If we lean too much towards that aspect, the recoil will be too high even at close range.
So we have to balance that while maintaining the maneuverability and mobility that the ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider is great for. It improves both horizontal and vertical recoil, stability of aiming and has the added benefit of shortening radar signatures. The only downside is a slight graining of aiming velocity and bullet velocity, the latter of which is largely irrelevant at such short ranges.
However, the Bombast T54 short barrel brings back the lost ADS (aim down sight) speed, in addition to improving movement and sprint speed to fire, And the hip fire and tac stance spread, which is where the weapon already excels. Tactical stance is very situational, but this is a great weapon to rely on often. Then, the Bruen Pivot vertical grip helps again against the vertical recoil, which is much worse than the horizontal recoil on this weapon.
Because you are still very mobile, despite this being an LMG, Demo VIP-09 handle buffs the ADS and sprint to fire rate, while choosing an optical sight is recommended as the iron sights on this weapon aren’t great. We went with the SZ Lonewolf Optics because it helps a little bit at medium range, but if you want even faster ADS time, go for a shorter range red dot sight.
Best Kastov LSW class in Modern Warfare 3
This is the best class to use alongside the Kastov LSW in Modern Warfare 3:
- Vest: Gunner vest
- Secondary: Kar98k
- Tactical: Flash grenade
- Deadly: Sticky grenade
- Field Upgrade: Trophy system
- Gloves: Quick-Grip Gloves
- Boots: All-Terrain boots
- Acceleration: EOD filling
The Kasotv LSW struggles at long range, so if you’re in a firefight where you’re not quite capable with your primary weapon, you’ll want the Gunner vest equipped so you can switch to the Kar98k and take them out with a quick headshot. The Gunner Vest also has the added benefit of improving your reload speed – useful when using an LMG – and ensures you spawn with maximum ammo.
For your disposable items, the Flash grenade is always an old reliable, and since you have a Sticky grenade faster than a Frag in hectic situations, we opted for that in the Lethal slot. The Trophy system is also always a good idea, as it destroys all incoming throws, best placed on a target.
Many of the gloves are usable here, but we opted for the Quick-Grip Gloves as it improves weapon swap speed by at least 40%, which is a huge help when switching from an unwieldy LMG to a sniper rifle. That is followed by the All-Terrain boots which improve your movement speed, although the Tactical Pads, Stalker Boots, Covert Sneakers, And Lightweight boots are all good options depending on your preference.
Finally, the EOD filling protects you from explosives, but the Tac Mask is also an option if you prefer to protect yourself from stuns, flashes and the like.
