Best archetypes for each party member in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Each party member has a “best archetype” in Metaphor: ReFantazioalthough the game clearly wants you to experiment with your own combinations. However, a system called Royal Archetypes starts late in the story, and they almost require you to have spent the entire game pushing each character in a specific direction if you want to unlock them in time to beat the final boss.

The good news is that these royal archetypes are extremely powerful and worth unlocking.

We break it down below the best archetypes for each party member Metaphor: ReFantazio (including the main character). There are many spoilers for all job families, Royal Archetype job titles, and late-game party members below, so scroll at your own risk.

Best archetypes for the main character

Unlike the other heroes traveling alongside you Metaphor: ReFantaziothe hero unlocks his royal archetype – Prince – through the story. This then unlocks the ability to study Royal Archetypes for the rest of your party members, although they must earn them.

Because you naturally unlock the Royal Prince Archetypeyou are free to study whatever you want for most of the game. Still, we’ve had a lot of success going into more magical and healing routes, because you can’t remove him from the party and those types of archetypes are always useful.

Consider these five Protagonist Archetype Families as you work your way through the game:

  • Seeker
  • Healer
  • Magician
  • Trader
  • Shooter

Best archetypes for Strohl

Strohl starts as the Warrior and has quite high strength. This makes it ideal for physical damage archetypes like Brawler. However, Strohl’s ideal role limits him a bit, as there are some enemies that require a little more than a sharp blade. Merchant is a good addition to his kit to boost his luck and give him the all-important Gold Attack, but Commander is really where Strohl shines outside of his Warrior home, as he will learn numerous support skills that can make him invaluable. in some endgame battles.

If you’re thinking ahead to his Royal Archetype, you’ll want to focus on Warrior and Commander, such as the The Royal Warrior job requires Samurai 20, Warlord 20 and 30,000 MAG to unlock.

Consider these four Archetype Families for Strohl as you work your way through the game:

  • Warrior
  • Commander
  • Trader
  • fighter

Best archetypes for Hulkenberg

Hülkenberg is a bit of an odd party member Metaphorbecause to make her the best tank she can be, you also have to invest a lot in magic. To unlock the Magic Knight – and therefore the rest of the Knight lineage – you must teach Hulkenberg the Magician Archetype. That theme of tanker and magic user – usually opposing ideas in games like this – will follow Hulkenberg all the way to her Royal Knight Archetype at the end of the game.

Royal Knight requires Paladin 20, Dark Knight 15, Elemental Master 15 and 30,000 MAG. If you want to eventually have her study to become a Royal Knight, make sure you basically have her on a Knight or Mage path all the time, as she’ll have a ton of lane XP to chew through before the game is over , since there are four lanes. in each of these families.

Consider these four Archetype families for Hulkenberg as you work your way through the game:

  • Knight
  • Magician
  • Commander
  • Healer

Best archetypes for Heismay

Metaphor: ReFantazio_20241018152622

Heismay is a real go-getter when it comes to odd jobs. In fact, you’ll have to invest in more jobs to get Heismay’s Royal Archetype than any other party member. So unless you want to spend all your endgame XP fruit on Heismay, you’ll need to be very disciplined to get him where he needs to go for the Royal Thief.

Royal Thief requires Ninja 20, Dragoon 15, Tycoon 15 and 30,000 MAG. What makes that tricky is that you need to master at least one archetype in the Seeker, Knight, and Commander trees to reach the higher jobs in the Thief, Gunner, and Merchant trees. While you can quite easily use a number of Archetypes to gain important skills with other characters, try to avoid that especially with Heismay, as he requires a lot of Archetype XP to achieve his goal.

Stick to these six Archetype Families for Heismay as you make your way through the game:

  • Thief
  • Shooter
  • Trader
  • Seeker
  • Knight
  • Commander

Best archetypes for Junah

Metaphor: ReFantazio_20241018152748

Since Junah is the first of the last three party members, Junah’s work stress is a bit more relaxing. You start with her advanced Masked Dancer job, and you don’t need the same requirements to unlock it as other characters. So ideally you can just stick her in the Faker and Masked Dancer trees for the rest of the game.

Royal Masked Dancer requires Persona Master 20, Trickster 20 and 30,000 MAG. This means that your only barriers to Junah’s ultimate archetype are the level of your follower bond with Junah herself and Alonzo. Make sure you prioritize this early so Junah isn’t blocked from her more advanced jobs for too long. If you find yourself with XP left for Junah, consider further developing her magical skills with Mage or her deceptive skills with Ninja.

Consider these four Archetype families for Junah as you work your way through the game:

  • Masked dancer
  • Faker
  • Magician
  • Thief

Best archetypes for Eupha

Metaphor: ReFantazio_20241018152648

Eupha is the penultimate party member you unlock Metaphorand you actually only need to level two trees: Royal Summoner requires Devil Summoner 20, Soul Hacker 20 and 30,000 MAG. This means you only have to work on Eupha’s own extremely powerful Summoner lane and the runway, Seeker.

The only real barrier you’ll face to obtaining Eupha’s ultimate archetype is her follower band level. The tricky part, however, is what time in the game you get Eupha. Once you pick her up, you won’t have much free time until the latter part of the game, so you’ll likely be stuck with her at a low follower level for hours of story content. Once you have those precious moments of endgame free time, try to establish her follower bond as quickly as possible.

Consider these four Archetype families for Eupha as you work your way through the game:

Best archetypes for Basilio

Metaphor: ReFantazio_20241018152659

As the final party member you unlock, Basilio requires you to master just five Archetype commands to reach his final form. But that’s actually one more task than his other two endgame companions, Eupha and Junah. Royal Berserker requires Destroyer 20, Martial Artist 20 and 30,000 MAGwhich is a bit of a problem when it comes to just the raw XP needed versus the amount of stuff you have to do in the last few weeks of the game.

There are plenty of endgame dungeons for you to drag Basilio through before the final boss fight so you can unlock Royal Berserker, but you’ll also need to max out his Follower Band (the last band you make) and Catherine’s Band. is not available for regular visits until almost the end of the game. To get Basilio where you want to go, make sure you prioritize spending time with him and Catherina, and save up some XP fruit to help him through a few of his jobs.

Consider these four Archetype families for Basilio as you work your way through the game:

  • Berserker
  • fighter
  • Knight
  • Warrior

Then see how to unlock all the archetypes and followers, how to increase eloquence, and how to see all the endings.
