Besiktas coach Senol Gunes SLAMS Dele Alli yet again as he continues his nightmare spell in Turkey

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes claimed Dele Alli “doesn’t deserve to play” at the moment after he was an unused substitute in the Turkish side’s loss to Ankaragucu on Wednesday.

Alli, 26, joined Besiktas on loan from Everton last summer in a bid to spice up his fledgling career after several difficult years.

However, it has been a miserable spell for the former Tottenham star in Turkey with Alli struggling to make an impact and making just 10 appearances for the club, despite the fanfare his arrival has received.

His spell in Turkey appeared to receive another blow on Wednesday when Gunes left Alli on the bench during the Turkish Cup round of 16 loss on penalties to Ankaragucu, before calling up the midfielder after the game.

Speaking after the match, Gunes said: ‘Dele Alli has had a good run.

“But he doesn’t deserve to play right now.”

Gunes’ criticism comes after news broke earlier this month that Besiktas reportedly wants to send Dele Alli back to Everton due to his problems, but any return seems unlikely as there is no You think there is a break clause in your loan agreement.

The report stated that there was an expectation by Everton that if Besiktas canceled the loan early, they would still be required to pay his salary in full and the previously agreed £1 million loan fee.

It is not the first time Gunes has publicly called out Alli, as the manager criticized the Englishman for his ineffective performances in November after taking him off at half-time against Umraniyespor in late October.

‘I couldn’t affect the players [yet]now I can easily communicate with them, but we have not managed to communicate with Dele Alli yet,’ he said.

“Let’s not talk about Dele Alli as a player, but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency.”

Alli continues to endure a nightmare loan spell in Turkey with Gunes regularly criticizing him

Alli was then booed from the pitch by his own fans in his team’s last game before Christmas after he was substituted in the 29th minute during a Turkish Cup match.

He then posted on social media about his love for soccer and how he had no intention of giving up the sport.

Since then, Alli has played just one minute of football in Besiktas’ five matches.

The Turkish giants are enduring a disappointing campaign under Gunes, who replaced Valerien Ismael in October, as they sit fifth in the Turkish Super League.
