Benjy Weenick: Heartbroken family of 16-year-old passenger who tragically died in horror crash that seriously injured four others share powerful message
The devastated family of a 16-year-old who tragically died in a horror car crash have vowed to 'hold no bitterness in our hearts'.
Emergency services were called to Main South Road in Second Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about an hour and a half south of Adelaide, about 5.15pm on Sunday and treated five teenagers after a Toyota HiLux lost control.
Benjy Weenick, 16, from Blackwood in Adelaide's south-east, who was a passenger in the HiLux, died at the scene.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was rushed to Flinders Medical Center along with three other passengers – a 16-year-old boy and two 15-year-old girls.
The teens reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“We are heartbroken and still trying to make sense of this tragedy, but we will not hold any bitterness in our hearts but instead thank God for the wonderful 16 years we had with our beautiful boy Benjy,” the family said from the teenager to Ny Breaking Australia.
