Cincinnati Bengals running back has reportedly agreed to take a pay cut to stay with the team for the upcoming season.

Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaeffer, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the team agreed to a restructured deal to keep him for the upcoming season.

The running back had a non-guaranteed base salary of $9.4 million for this upcoming season and was capped at about $12.8 million.

In April, it was reported that Mixon might be cut from the team if he did not agree to a pay cut.

Mixon has been in the NFL at Cincinnati for all of his six years and earned one Pro-Bowl selection in 2021.

That season, Mixon rushed for a career 1,205 yards and 13 touchdowns as Cincinnati won the AFC title and reached Super Bowl LVI.

There they fell to the Los Angeles Rams. Mixon recorded 72 yards on 15 carries that game.

Mixon was selected with the 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 draft from Oklahoma.

Over six seasons in the NFL, Mixon has amassed 5,378 rushing yards on 1,314 carries over the course of 80 games. He also has 40 touchdowns on the ground.
