Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow reacts to viral video after fans feared a wrist injury

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow laughed off the concerns after a video of him “struggling” to pick up a water bottle went viral following their Week 1 loss to New England.

After fans saw Burrow nursing the same wrist that ended his season early last season, fans began speculating that the injury may not be fully healed.

When asked about the clip during his press conference on Wednesday, Burrow denied that the injury was still bothering him, adding that he was trying to stay hydrated during the game.

“Did I take it strangely?” Burrow said, confused, then started laughing.

“I don’t know, I drink water. I can’t say I’ve seen that or know what anyone is talking about,” he added.

In the 16-10 loss in their season opener, Burrow completed 21 of 29 attempts for 164 yards, but struggled to get a touchdown. He also had four carries for 15 yards.

Burrow noted that it’s tough to come back from an injury after not playing for a long time.

“You’re not really sure how it’s going to feel,” he said. “That’s part of it. Week 1, nobody panics.

‘We had another chance on Sunday, and after that we will have another fifteen chances to improve and show what we stand for.’

Burrow played in 10 games last season, leading Cincinnati to a 5-5 record before suffering a wrist injury. During that span, he completed 244 of 365 attempts for 2,309 yards and 15 touchdowns.

His sideline meant the Bengals missed the playoffs for the first time since their Super Bowl appearance to end the 2021-22 season.

Despite a slow start to their season, the Bengals will look to bounce back when they take on the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
