Benedict Cumberbatch, 46, and Gaby Hoffmann, 41, were spotted filming the Netflix limited series Eric in New York City on Thursday.
The Fantastic Beasts actor was spotted dressed in a character costume that appeared to be a cross between the Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch and Sully from Monsters Inc.
One photo shows the Sherlock actor running down the street with the head off the costume.
The Transparent alum, meanwhile, wore a rust colored dress with a brightly colored scarf around her neck, an olive green trench coat and maroon knee-high boots.

Later, Benedict was seen in a more realistic costume while filming another scene on set. He was wearing an olive trench coat and lugging around a tan briefcase.
Then he was spotted wearing the same look but with a different top while filming with his younger costar, Ivan Morris Howe. He wore a blue baseball T-shirt with a forest green scarf and dark jeans.
In the scene, he was seen buying his on-screen son — who wore a stylish red and cream chevron puffer jacket — a copy of a magazine.
Set in New York City in the 1980s, Benedict plays the puppeteer and puppeteer Vincent, the creator of the wildly popular children’s television show Good Day Sunshine. He is looking for his missing son Edgar.
As he searches, he becomes more and more loose, volatile and full of self-loathing. and is convinced he can bring Edgar home by getting his drawing of a blue monster doll named Eric on television.
The official synopsis reads: “While Vincent’s progressively destructive behavior alienates his family, his colleagues and the detectives who try to help him, it is Eric, a delusional delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the quest to bring his son home.” .’
Eric was created by Abi Morgan, who said, “Eric is a dark and crazy journey into the heart of 1980s New York, and the good, bad and ugly world of Vincent, a genius puppeteer in one of America’s leading TV programs for children.’
Gaby plays Vincent’s wife and Edgar’s mother Cassie. Born into a wealthy family in upstate New York, she fell in love with Vincent while they were in art school.

Cassie and Vincent’s relationship begins to unravel over Edgar’s disappearance, Vincent’s womanizing, and his growing fickleness.
Shooting for the six-part series kicked off last month in Budapest, Hungary, which doubles as New York City in some scenes.
Netflix shared the official synopsis on Twitter in November 2021, writing, “From writer Abi Morgan, this suspenseful thriller follows what happens when a young boy goes missing in 1980s Manhattan.”
“His father, Vincent, a puppeteer on America’s leading children’s TV show, finds solace in his friendship with Eric, the monster who lives under his son’s bed.”
While there’s no official release date yet, it will reportedly air on the streaming service later this year.
Benedict will also star in another Netflix show this year – a Roald Dahl movie based on The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
Gaby most recently played the role of Claire Rothman in the HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
