Benedict Cumberbatch looked sparkling as he watched the men’s singles semifinal on Day 12 of the Wimbledon Tennis championships.

The actor, 46, was wearing a smart, light blue suit as he took his place in the crowd for Friday’s highly anticipated event.

Benedict wore a white shirt and navy blue tie under his jacket and shielded his eyes with Ray-Ban sunglasses.

He joined a string of other household names as they braved the drizzly weather at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Benedict kept his face straight and focused on the pitches as he watched Novak Djokovic beat Italian rival Jannik Sinner.

In the other major semi-final of the day, Carlos Alcaraz takes on Danil Medvedev.

Novak mocked the crowd on Center Court at Wimbledon today after his Italian rival Jannik failed to take the third set in their semifinal, which the Serb won in straight sets.

The 36-year-old repeatedly served his way out of potential trouble to beat Sinner 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in SW19.

Djokovic mocked the Wimbledon crowd by making a “cry baby” gesture after Sinner went three set points unused.

Overall, Djokovic won all six break points he faced and is now in his ninth final with the All England Club. It is also his 35th final at all Grand Slam tournaments, more than any man or woman in tennis history.

He is seeking a 24th overall singles championship, which would be the highest in the Open era, which began in 1968.

Roger Federer is the only man to win eight singles trophies at Wimbledon. Martina Navratilova won the women’s championship nine times.

Djokovic, who was watched by a beaming Princess of Wales from the royal box, will meet No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz or No. 3 Daniil Medvedev for the trophy on Sunday. Alacaraz and Medvedev would later play their semifinals on Friday.

The match was not without controversy – as Djokovic was penalized by British umpire Richard Haigh in the second set when the score was 15-15 in the fourth game.

Djokovic had suddenly let out a loud and belated grunt after hitting a backhand down the line that he probably expected to win only for Sinner.

Haigh said Djokovic’s roar came too late after his shot and could have scared off his opponent.

It is unusual for a grunt to provoke a hurdle and Djokovic responded in disbelief, telling Haigh, “You must be kidding. Mentioning that in the Wimbledon semi-final? What are you doing?”

To further complicate the situation, Haigh then gave Djokovic a time violation for overserving in the same match, but the reigning champion managed to keep a cool head and opted not to face off again .

However, he refocused and continued to dominate – winning the next three points to win the game.
