Ben Cousins leaves fans in stitches after revealing how JAIL made him fall in love with classic Australian TV show: ‘When I was locked up I did not miss an episode’

Ben Cousins left the Front Bar panel on Wednesday after revealing why Home and Away is his favorite TV show.
Footy legend Cousins, 45, was the special guest on the panel show this week, where he discussed his incredible career and how he is the happiest he has ever been.
Cousins’ troubles off the football field are well documented, having been to prison six times in thirteen years, but the teetotaling legend didn’t have a drink on hand during the show – where guests typically join the hosts for beer .
And in a series of quick questions, Cousins revealed that one of his stints in prison helped shape his love for classic Australian soap Home and Away.
When asked what he considers his favorite TV show, Cousins said, “I’ve been watching Home and Away for a long time. When I was locked up, I didn’t miss an episode.’

That answer left the panel and audience in stitches, with Cousins just as happy to make a fool of himself.
The 45-year-old has had a fantastic 2024, landing a role at Channel 7 in Western Australia as a newsreader and heading up the sports section of the programme.
He is also the star recruit for this year’s series of Dancing With The Stars.
And thinking about what life is like right now, Cousins couldn’t be happier.
“As hard as the news is, it’s a lot easier than being the news,” he joked.
‘[I’m doing] very good actually. I wish it hadn’t had to take so long and it should have taken its course the way it did, but it’s nice to be working and being busy, having some real ambition back and being connected to friends, family and even at a community level.
“Life has never been better to be honest.”
However, he admitted that training for the dance competition was far from easy.

“It was so hard, this is so different from anything I’ve ever done before,” he said.
“It was hard to pick it up and it was just hard in terms of the hours it took to do the show.
“That said, I missed the life of a professional athlete. I didn’t move like a human, but I lived a lifestyle like a human.”
Cousins also revealed that his favorite movie is One flew over the cuckoo’s nest and that Geelong legend Cameron Ling is the toughest opponent he has ever faced.
