- Chilwell made just 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season
Ben Chilwell’s future at Chelsea is reportedly uncertain following the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca.
The 27-year-old struggled with injuries again last season and made just 13 Premier League appearances as the Blues endured a tumultuous season.
Maresca’s arrival will bring a number of changes, with the former Leicester City manager already bringing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with him from the King Power Stadium.
According to The TelegraphChilwell could be a victim of the managerial change, with the outlet reporting that the Spaniard prefers players who can play in multiple positions.
Chelsea have been linked with Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, who can play as a left-back or centre-back in a defensive line.

Furthermore, the form of Marc Cucurella, who carried his late-season performances into the European Championship and excelled for Spain – while keeping Bayer Leverkusen’s Alex Grimaldo out of the squad – suggests the England international’s role will be reduced next season.
Euro 2024 will be a sensitive subject for Chilwell as he has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad despite the Three Lions manager having no recognised left-back to replace the injured Luke Shaw.
Kieran Trippier has been widely criticised for his performances in that role during the tournament, with the English system struggling in the absence of the Manchester United defender.
The report also claims Trevoh Chalobah is set to be sacked this summer, while Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival has cast further doubt over Conor Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The England international has just one year left on his contract and there has been talk of a move away for some time.

Chelsea begin preparations for the new season this week, as teams not competing in the European Championship will have to deal with a new regime for the first time.
The rest of the group is expected to reunite later this month ahead of a US tour.
