Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s second attempt at happily ever after may have failed, but her relationship with his family isn’t completely broken.
The 55-year-old singer still has a fan in Caylee Cowan, the girlfriend of Ben’s brother Casey Affleck, who has angrily defended her against the “hate” she has faced following her divorce announcement.
Caylee, 26, who has been in a relationship with the Manchester by the Sea actor since 2021, described Jennifer as one of the “kindest, sweetest people ever” when she revealed their close bond.
“I love her so much,” the Caylee Cowan x Mahila fashion designer told DailyMail.com of the Grammy-nominated star. “I love Jen. Jen is a very generous and genuine person.”
She continued: ‘I hate that she gets so much hate because she is truly one of the kindest, sweetest people ever.

‘She always texts me back… I’ll be like, “I just saw your thing and I loved it,” and she’ll be like, “Oh my god, thank you, baby. I love you.” I’ll be like, “I love you, too.”‘
Caylee’s comments come amid a fierce backlash against Jennifer following her split from Ben, with fans claiming that her obsession with celebrities and her decision to make a documentary about their love story drove a wedge between them.
Ben and Jen had a short marriage, some 20 years after they failed to tie the knot the first time.
The newfound love announced they were back together in 2021, before tying the knot in a private ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022.
The following month, they celebrated again with a huge party at Ben’s Georgia mansion, attended by a host of famous friends.
Casey sparked speculation of unrest when he failed to attend their second wedding, telling reporters he had “other things” to do.
He later posted a heartfelt message to Jennifer on Instagram, jokingly telling her to prepare for the Affleck family’s “dysfunction.”
“Good things are worth waiting for,” he captioned a photo of him, Ben and Jennifer in 2002. “Here’s to new twists, new beginnings and finding new sources of old love.”

Caylee continued, “I hate that she gets so much hate because she is honestly one of the kindest, sweetest people ever.” Jen and Ben are pictured in February of this year.
“Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Just kidding. I’m kidding.”
Caylee appeared to provide some insight into his whereabouts on the big day in a now-deleted comment below his tribute to the newlyweds.
She wrote, “Hey, if you weren’t in town on Saturday to get eggnog, [his son] to soccer practice, who would have helped the boy who broke his arm? You’re a good person. I love you.’
A source also told People that Casey had to miss the wedding “due to family and parental obligations at home.”
