Ben Affleck ‘kind of disturbed’ by his wife Jennifer Lopez’s ‘love’ of Yellowstone series

As it turns out, Jennifer Lopez was one of the 12.1 million people who breathlessly tuned in to the fifth season of Paramount Network’s hit show Yellowstone, as she finds herself “drawn to the romance between” Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler ( Cole Hauser).

‘Jen showed me an Instagram clip of a monologue [Beth] has in the car with the kid about ways to get rich,’ said her fourth husband, Ben Affleck. The Bill Simmons Podcast on Tuesday.

‘And then [Jen] I was like, “I love this story of these two.” I was like, “Wait a minute, with Cole Hauser? What do you like about that?”

Cole turns out to be a dear old friend of the 50-year-old Berkeley-born, Cambridge-raised man and his best friend/frequent collaborator Matt Damon, who joined him on the podcast.

The Oscar-winning screenwriters starred as Massachusetts high school students alongside the 48-year-old SAG Award nominee in Robert Mandel’s 1992 drama School Ties about a student (Brendan Fraser) hiding his Jewish heritage in 1959.

Damon, Affleck and Hauser then starred as feisty fellow South Bostonians in Gus Van Sant’s 1997 genius janitor drama Good Will Hunting.

“It always baffled me that Cole wasn’t a huge movie star,” Matt marveled.

‘When we worked with him, he was 16 years old, I will never forget it. [Ben and I] We’d drive back to Bostonā€¦ we’d leave the set for the first week, we’d drive to Cambridge, and we’d be likeā€¦ ā€œLeaving you and me out, who’s the fucking best actor here?ā€ And we both, at the same time, were like, “Hauser.” He was raw talent; just amazing… and just the sweetest soul.’

The Deep Water producer agreed his Santa Barbara-born pal is ‘very convincing as’ the Montana ranch foreman/enforcer in love with his powerful boss’s daughter: ‘I think America thinks he’s Rip’ .

The last six episodes of Taylor Sheridan and John Linson’s 14-episode fifth season critically acclaimed the neo-western drama will resume this summer on the Paramount Network.

Meanwhile, Ben and Matt have been hard at work promoting their roles as Phil Knight and Sonny Vaccaro in the Affleck movie. critically acclaimed sports drama Air, which hits US theaters on April 5.

Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Chris Tucker and Viola Davis also star in the film about NBA legend Michael Jordan’s original Nike deal.
