Ben Affleck has a ‘has a darkness to him’ that Jennifer Lopez could not fix – despite her best efforts
Jennifer Lopez didn’t give up her marriage to Ben Affleck without a fight.
The 55-year-old Let’s Get Loud singer tried for months to save their relationship, but ultimately she couldn’t overcome the “darkness” inside him.
“She loves him, she will always love him, that’s the problem,” a source close to the Wedding Planner actress told Page Six.
“Ben has a darkness inside him that no one else can fix. Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it,” the source continued.
J-Lo reportedly hoped Ben would show up at her Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday party in the Hamptons, but that didn’t happen.

“She truly believed this was the most beautiful love story she had ever experienced and that she was finally getting her chance to live the fairy tale,” the insider claimed.
The source added: ‘She just didn’t think about who the real man in the fairytale was.’
The Marry Me star filed for divorce from the Argo director earlier this week, on the second anniversary of their wedding in 2022.
The divorce petition listed April as the date of separation, but even after Ben moved out of their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion, Lopez didn’t give up on him.
“She gave everything she had here; her whole heart. She would have done anything to make this work,” the outlet reported.
“She exposed herself to criticism, ridicule and countless detractors who told her this was a bad idea, that it was doomed to failure, that there was a reason it didn’t work the first time,” the source said.
“But she didn’t want to believe it. She really believed that love would conquer all.”
Jennifer broke her social media silence on Friday by posting for the first time since her divorce.
Instead of sharing new content, the singer reposted a selfie she had previously taken that had been shared by a fan account to her Instagram Story.

The former couple began dating in 2002 after bonding on the set of the film Gigli, and soon became engaged.
But in 2004, just before they were to become husband and wife, they called it quits.
They both married others – she tied the knot with Mac Anthony in 2004, while he tied the knot with Jennifer Garner in 2005 – but after splitting, they eventually got back together.
In 2021, their love for each other was rekindled and in July 2022 they got married in Las Vegas.
