Ben Affleck gets shout out from Mindy Kaling at DNC amid Jennifer Lopez divorce: ‘Hang in there!’
Ben Affleck got a special shout-out from Mindy Kaling when she spoke onstage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday.
Just a day earlier, Jennifer Lopez had officially filed for divorce from the 52-year-old Oscar winner, on their second wedding anniversary, after months of separation rumors.
Towards the end of her speech, the 45-year-old former cast member of The Office gave a “shout out to the amazing delegate” from her home state of Massachusetts.
As she listed sports teams and famous names from the state, such as the Boston Red Sox and Jason Tatum, Kaling said, “Ben Affleck, hang in there!” to loud cheers from the crowd.
“Dunkin’ Donuts is the best coffee in the world,” Mindy added. Affleck has notably starred in numerous ads for the food company.

The Good Will Hunting actor appeared alongside his estranged wife Jennifer in a Super Bowl ad for Dunkin’ Donuts — and was paid a whopping $10 million for the commercial.
Mindy’s post comes as Affleck and Lopez are in the process of divorcing. She filed the papers on Tuesday without a lawyer.
In legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the On The Floor singer listed April 26, 2024 as the date of the divorce. The couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before saying “I do.”
The stars first tied the knot in July 2022 at a Las Vegas chapel, followed by a larger and lavish ceremony the following month at his Georgia estate on August 20.
Also on Wednesday, the actor was seen smoking a cigarette as he arrived at his office in Los Angeles. He did not wear his wedding ring during the outing.
Although rumors of a divorce had already been circulating in May, when the couple had not been seen together for a month, problems reportedly arose during their honeymoon in Italy in 2022.
A source recently said Page six, “When they weren’t in front of the cameras. They barely spoke to each other during what should have been the happiest time of their lives.”
“He tried to convince her that he was a changed man, and that didn’t last very long,” the insider said, adding that Affleck also craved more privacy and couldn’t stand Lopez’s fame anymore.
