Ben Affleck gets shock visit by the FBI and LA County Sheriff’s deputies at Brentwood home as LA fires rage

Ben Affleck received a surprising knock on his door from law enforcement on Sunday.

The 52-year-old actor and filmmaker’s home in the Tony Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles was visited by what appeared to be FBI agents and deputies from the LA County Sheriff’s Department.

The officers waited outside the gate of his property for several minutes before leaving.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Affleck’s rep for comment.

It’s unclear if the Armageddon star was home when the visit took place.

His $20.5 million home has so far emerged unscathed from the LA fires, even though the Brentwood estate is on the border of Pacific Palisades, which was destroyed by the fire.

It is unclear whether Ben was home at the time, but no one appears to have opened the door for the officers

According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, 24 people died Sunday evening in the Palisades fire and the Eaton fire, which started in Altadena, near Pasadena.

The FBI agents and sheriff’s deputies appear to have used the payphone next to Affleck’s driveway, but the gate was never opened.

One FBI agent wore a short-sleeved shirt with the agency’s logo on the back, while another person wore body armor with the same logo on the back.

At one point they walked to the gate, possibly to make a phone call there.

Two other law enforcement officers were seen leaving the property, one of whom was wearing a Sheriff’s Department branded windbreaker, while the other was wearing a utility vest.

The safety of Ben’s home seemed to have been called into question over the past week because of its proximity to the Palisades fire, which was only 13 percent contained as of Sunday evening.

Last week, the actor-turned-director was photographed looking shocked as he returned home at night, with flames visible nearby.

Ben quickly evacuated and then rushed to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s nearby home in Brentwood to get her and their children to safety.

He was seen last week helping his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children evacuate. She revealed on NBC that she lost a friend to the fire after they ‘didn’t get out in time’

He seemed especially focused on family over the weekend, as he gave his eldest daughter Violet a loving hug.

Although Ben also shares with the 19-year-old Yale student Fin, 16, and Sam, 12, with Garner, whom he married in 2005 and split in 2015.

Ben was previously seen returning home from his office, despite his home apparently being under a mandatory evacuation order.

He and his family have been lucky so far, but Garner revealed that losses from the fire had hit close to home.

“I lost a friend who didn’t leave on time,” she revealed, her voice beginning to crack with emotion, while speaking to chef Jose Andres and Katy Tur for MSNBC.

So far, more than 180,000 people have been forced to evacuate due to the massive fires across Los Angeles.

While many celebrities have been devastated by the fires, countless people who are not rich or famous have been displaced by the deadly fires.

Last week, DailyMail.com learned that Affleck has ‘no plans’ to attend the upcoming Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where his ex Jennifer Lopez’s remake of Kiss Of The Spider Woman will premiere.

Ben was a producer on the project, as he was on her recent film Unstoppable, but he has chosen to postpone their publicity campaigns to let his ex star.
