Ben Affleck and Jennifer’s Garner’s daughter Violet, 18, demands ‘mask mandates’ in passionate speech detailing how she contracted a ‘post-viral condition’

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s daughter Violet attended the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting where she advocated for mandatory mask mandates in hospitals.

The 18-year-old, who is often seen wearing a face mask, shared her experience of developing “post-viral illness” in 2019, saying she “saw firsthand” that medications don’t always have answers to the “consequences of even small viruses.”

“To address the long-term COVID crisis, I demand that government institutions, including prisons and detention centers, have sufficient numbers of face masks, filtered air, and use far-UVC light. I also want regional medical schools to make face masks mandatory,” she said in her impassioned speech.

The eldest daughter of the 51-year-old Argo director and the 52-year-old Going on 30 star (who divorced in 2018) also strongly opposed “mask bans.”

“You need to expand the availability of free, high-quality testing and treatment, and most importantly, the county opposes mask bans for any reason. They don’t keep us safer,” she said.

Violet introduced herself to the board: “Hello, Violet Affleck, Los Angeles resident, first time voter, I am 18.”

She then went on to say: ‘I was diagnosed with post-viral illness in 2019. I’m doing well now, but I’ve seen first-hand that medicine doesn’t always have an answer to the effects of even small viruses.’

Violet then spoke about the COVID-19 pandemic and how “one in 10 infections leads to long COVID, a devastating neurological and cardiovascular disease that can leave people unable to work, move, see and even think.”

“It will exacerbate our homelessness crisis and the suffering of many people in our city. It will hit communities of color, disabled, elderly, transgender, women, and anyone in public, essential work the hardest.”

The teenager then advocated for a ‘mask requirement’ in hospitals and the ‘availability of masks’.
