Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are ‘in a good place’ and did not fight at The Mother premiere

Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Lopez’s relationship is still going strong, despite speculation that they had a falling out on Wednesday at the premiere of her latest movie, The Mother.

While some speculators interpreted their body language on the red carpet as tense and belligerent during an argument, a source close to the couple told DailyMail.com that “the story that they are constantly fighting is false.”

“They’re in an incredibly good place, very loving and supportive of each other,” the insider revealed, before debunking recent reports that they were caught in a public altercation while promoting her thriller, which hit Netflix on Friday.

New footage of the alleged bickering between the two-time Oscar winner, 50, and the 53-year-old superstar show them seemingly “talking about where to meet the rest of their family after the pre-screen carpet.”

It was also confirmed that all of their respective children, including Lopez’s 15-year-old twins Emme and Max, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony and Affleck’s three children Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, were all in pending.

After rekindling their relationship in early 2021, nearly two decades after breaking off their first engagement, the duo wed in Las Vegas, a month before re-tying the knot in Georgia on August 20, 2022.

Earlier this month, the Marry Me actress gushed about how it “brings tears to my eyes” to see their families melt together.

“He’s a great dad,” she said while appearing on The View. “He really is the best dad I’ve ever seen.

He’s so involved, he teaches me how to deal with the kids sometimes.’

Jennifer called Ben the type of dad everyone would ask for — a “present, loving dad who cares.”

“He’s just so up to date, he’s such a brilliant guy anyway, like he’s learned so much, and you can just tell when he had his kids, he read every book and everything you could possibly learn about kids , and he applies for it and attends and that’s all you can ask for, is a gift, loving father who cares about you and who shows up every day, and that’s who he is.’

Jennifer and Ben combined their families after walking down the aisle last year.

Now a mom of teens, Jennifer said it was hard to watch her kids begin to “isolate” from her.

“I’m experiencing this now, we’re all going through it for the first time with our own kids, and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is what she was talking about,'” she explained.

“This is when your kids won’t talk to you, and they kind of individualize you, and it’s all necessary, and intellectually I get it. But my heart! My heart!’

Away from her home life, Jennifer’s film career has continued to flourish – most recently, she starred in The Mother, playing a hit man determined to do whatever it takes to keep her young daughter safe.

The role required a lot of fight scenes and Jennifer took on the challenge with a lot of training.

“That was one where you really have to train a lot, where you really have to do the combat training and you have to do the sniper training… It was a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work,” she said.

While Jennifer, now in her early 50s, wishes she had gotten more roles like this when she was a little younger, she still says it was an “empowering” experience.

And it’s funny, you know, I wish I’d gotten a lot of these kinds of roles that I’m getting now, funnily enough, when I was a little more, you know, spry.

‘A little younger, shall we say. And it’s exciting to be able to do it now, I think it’s really empowering for me and makes me feel strong and good.”

The Jenny From The Block singer described how her dance background helped her pick up the fighting routines.

“It was just regular fight training, but it was choreographed. You have to be efficient, I can’t fight eight hours a day. After an hour I’m like, OK!

“So they had to be really efficient and we choreographed almost like a dance, which is good for me because I’m a dancer so I can take it one step at a time and I just learn from there.”
