When she was looking for a new prescription, she saw a bizarre ad offering an eye test, glasses and a pap smear – all for the price of one. She thought, why not?

Raphael said during the appointment: ‘That guy obviously tried to trade me [to a more expensive pair]’ and was told they ‘only had this red one.’

Raphael wanted the deal advertised and replied, “You got it. I had to fight to get the glasses. Producers tried to change them. Those shady characters objected to everything.”

Before Raphael became commercially successful, she worked for the Associated Press and United Press International, and for local news on TV and radio.

She previously told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview that today’s talk shows are more like “game shows.”

According to Raphael, the three most important things a presenter needed were experience, a large, colorful vocabulary, and timing.

Raphael said that most hosts today don’t have the last of the three, explaining: “The most important thing is timing. You have to know when to hold and when to fold.”

Throughout her illustrious career, Raphael interviewed numerous guests, including many celebrities.

Sally said that Audrey Hepburn was her favorite guest of her career. She admitted that she almost made a mistake during the interview in 1992 because she was such a fan of the actress.
