Beloved retailer is closing all its physical stores – again
A beloved retailer is closing all of its brick-and-mortar stores across the country, less than a year after attempting to reopen some locations.
BuyBuy Baby announced Monday that it would close its 10 remaining stores by the end of the year. It will be an online retailer.
The “difficult decision” comes after we “listened carefully to you, our wonderful customers and our valued partners,” the baby goods retailer said in a statement on its website.
The remaining stores will begin closing sales on October 18 and all sales after that date are final.
Gift vouchers will be accepted in stores until October 31 and can be redeemed on the brand’s website after that date.

The store’s military and double discounts are also being dumped on stores.
The brand, which went bankrupt last year, will continue as an online store.
BuyBuy Baby’s parent company Bed Bath and Beyond filed for bankruptcy in 2023 and sold BuyBuy Baby to Dream On Me for $15.5 million.
The New Jersey-based baby products company announced it would reopen a limited number of locations with the goal of opening about 100 stores in the coming years.
Now, less than 12 months later, the struggling brand is pulling out again.
Over the years, the brand had lost consumers to bigger rivals like Amazon and Target, and to a more cautious consumer following years of inflation.
BuyBuy Baby joins companies like Walgreens, Macy’s and Big Lots that faced store closures this year during the “retail apocalypse.”
Earlier this week, pharmacy giant Walgreens announced the closure of 1,200 locations nationwide.
About 500 of the planned stores will close over the next year, although their locations have not yet been announced.
Earlier this week, Big Lots announced details of another 208 stores it plans to close due to its bankruptcy.

The Big Lots store in Dennis Port, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, is closing soon and has up to 50 percent off sale
Bargain stores like Big Lots and dollar stores have been especially hard hit.
For example, 99 Cents Only announced in April that it would close all 371 locations in California, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
In addition, Macy’s will close 150 stores over the next three years, including closing 55 this year.
