Bellowing Karen filmed trying to rope off public California beach is hit with very hefty punishment
The aggressive woman who tried to block off a public beach in front of her beautiful California home, hurling insults at a shocked family, has been hit with hefty fines.
A viral video shows the woman yelling at a family with young children, “Get out of here! Right now!” as the children back away and she unrolls a white rope to cordon off her $6 million property from Laguna Beach.
The California Coastal Commission, a state agency that oversees more than 1,000 miles of coastline, concluded that the “Karen of the Week” violated the California Coastal Act.
Under California law, the state owns the beach at the water’s edge of the mean high tide line, meaning the public may use all areas between this point and the sea.
According to documents viewed by KCAL-TVThe commission found that the homeowner was “verbally harassing beachgoers.”

The Coastal Commission also said the use of ropes to close off the sand “is not legal and should be removed.”
The woman has two weeks to comply, or face a fine of up to $11,000 per day.
“Park Rangers spoke with residents and informed them that such behavior is unacceptable regardless of property boundaries. They also reminded them that any concerns regarding the beach should be reported to the city for mediation,” the City of Laguna Beach said.
The video begins with the homeowner yelling, “There goes the fence!” as she walks out of her house carrying a roll of white rope.
She throws the bobbin into the sand and shouts at the tourists to leave.

“I’m not joking. It’s not harassment on the beach, it’s harassment on my own turf.”
“This is not a place for an Instagram moment,” she adds as she marks out her section of beach.
“You’re on my property, get out now. Now you’re on my property line. Get out.”
“Ma’am, we’re fucking walking,” a woman can be heard saying, while the homeowner replies, “Pretty fucking slow.”
The rhetoric escalates when the tourist hits back, saying, “Jesus Christ… shut your f***ing mouth!” before calling her “Karen of the week.”
