Susan Vaughan of SV Aesthetics explains how the treatment works:
‘The Morpheus8 treatment is a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency. Two well-known treatments individually, which are excellent for tightening the skin.
‘Now put the two treatments together and you have a gold standard treatment with results to match.
‘Morpheus8 uses 24-pin disposable tips to treat the face and neck. All 24 microneedles are silicone coated, except for the tip of the needle. When the needles enter the skin, a powerful radiofrequency current penetrates through the tip of the needle and travels under the skin, through all layers of the skin.
‘These currents disrupt the structure of the skin underneath and help to rebuild and restructure the skin. On top of this, you get the added bonus of microneedling.
“As these very fine needles penetrate the skin, we create controlled trauma on the surface of the skin and in the layers below.
Your body will be encouraged to produce new collagen and elastin to heal these very small micro-lesions.
An anesthetic cream is applied to the treated area to ensure the client is as comfortable as possible.
‘Morpheus8 can be a bit uncomfortable for some clients, but a full face and neck treatment takes 20-25 minutes.
‘Skin can be quite red for a few hours after treatment and usually completely redness-free the next day. We recommend not wearing heavy makeup, exercising or swimming for 3 days after your Morpheus8 treatment.
‘On average, three sessions of Morpheus8 are recommended, with an interval of 4 to 6 weeks. Maintenance is only required twice the following year. After your first treatment, you will start to see results after 4-6 weeks.
Morpheus8 not only helps tighten skin, but improves the appearance of slack jowls, helps with the appearance of thin or crepey skin, improves skin texture, improves fine lines and wrinkles, and can treat a small but of fat under the chin. (if required).
Morpheus8 can be used on any area of the face or body where the skin has become lax. We use a 12-pin tip for the eye treatment so we can get closer to the bottom of the eyes and under the brow bone. A 40-pin body tip is used to ensure treatment is quick and as painless as possible.
The most common areas treated are: face and neck, eyes, arms, stomach, above the knees.
Morpheus8 and HA Skin Boosters are an amazing combo treatment: Morpheus will help tighten the skin and Skin Booster will help re-hydrate the skin, as well as help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
HA Skin Boosters contain a high concentration of hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the skin. In short, we are not introducing anything foreign to the body, as your skin naturally produces HA. Hyaluronic acid holds 1,000 times its weight in water so it’s like a big drink of water for the skin. Two sessions 3-4 weeks apart are recommended for best results.
