The Spanish mother-of-two was meeting a group of young swimmers on an undated occasion when it appears one got her notice of the day and obediently posed for a selfie.
In snapshots shared on Twitter yesterday by @david_h_moralesthe Queen can be seen beaming with joy in a photo with the group.

Letizia’s appearance on the social media app appears to be the first for a member of the royal family.
Although there is no official protocol for selfies in the British royal family, the royals have a rule against signing autographs, so they cannot be sold for large amounts of money.
It seems royal fans got lucky with the timing of the notification and took a selfie with the Queen.
And in the early days of camera phones, they seemed to avoid being photographed with members of the public with Princes William and Harry and King Charles all expressing their disgust with the method.

At the working meeting of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the Queen discussed strategies to deal with the disease with some of Spain’s leading cancer experts.
