Students from the University of St Andrews shared behind-the-scenes clips from the set of the latest season of The Crown.
Filming for the sixth series is currently underway at the former college of the Prince and Princess of Wales, where they met as students in 2001.
Videos shared on TikTok show Meg Bellamy and Ed McVey, who played Kate Middleton and Prince William, filming scenes on the historic campus, which dates back to the 15th century.
a viral clip shows Meg holding hands with model and actor Oli Green, who seems to have been cast as one of Kate’s old flames.
Before the Prince and Princess of Wales became a couple, Kate was believed to be dating fourth-year law student Rupert Finch.
The 15-second clip, which was filmed by a student, shows Meg dressed in a navy blazer, khaki skirt and knee-high brown boots, while her love interest dons a plaid sweater and jeans.
The scene opens with Kate looking at her love interest before entering one of the university buildings.
As they leave campus, the actress who plays Kate greets William, who walks past them, with a smile.
After going through an old door, William turns around and looks at Kate, causing the live audience to gape from where they were watching.
Predicting his next move, a student is heard yelling, ‘He’s going to run back, he’s going to run back!
The video ends with the students cheering as McVey runs after his co-stars.
Impressed with the cast of the show, the student captioned her video: ‘Will and Kate DUPE.’
In a follow-up video, the student claimed he was holding a sign for Meg that read, “Come on girl!”

After seeing the sign, the actress smiled to the crown and banged her fist in the air between takes.
The student said, ‘Besides, the actors are also very sweet.’
Filming from their classrooms, corridors and bedrooms, the locals of St Andrews revealed how they saw Dominic West, who plays a middle-aged King Charles in the series, McVey and Bellamy on the streets of their town.
Students currently attending St. Andrews have joked that they feel like they’ve gotten an exclusive first look at the upcoming The Crown series, because so many movies have been filmed on their campus.
“Basically, we’ve all seen the new season thanks to the students right now,” one quipped.
“You think that girl, who nobody knows about right now, will be hugely famous in a few months,” another observed of Meg Bellamy.
McVey, Bellamy, joined by actor and model Oli Green, right, have been seen filming all over campus.
The students filmed as the camera rolled, commenting enthusiastically on the action below them.
People have commented on how ‘sweet’ Meg, who plays Kate Middleton, has been to the students and shared a clip of their interaction.
“I’ve seen so many clips of St Andrews Crown that I’ve basically watched series six.” one joked.
Meanwhile, some have noted that Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of the new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, is currently studying at St Andrews and must be aware of filming for the show.
“I find it quite amusing that Prince William’s cousin Lady Louise is attending this university while they are filming the Crown aka Show which is about her family,” said one.
While some reportedly begged Netflix to let them be extras on the show, with some claiming the job pays £250 a day, others complained that filming could interfere with their studies, and one even revealed that the crew paid him £50 to allow them to film from his student room.

The film crew has been seen all over town in recent days, from the local port to a pizzeria where Kate’s character worked as a waitress.
Many students have shared their own videos from the set on social mediawith one captioning his post: “Watch Corona being filmed on my college campus.”
Another shared a video of Dominic West and Ed McVey filming Prince William’s first day at university with the caption: “You wake up to season six of The Crown outside your apartment.”
One person even managed to get close to the set. as Ed McVey entered the university libraryand many commented on how much the young actor, 22, resembles a teenage William.
And another student revealed that the team offered her £50 to allow them to set up a camera in her room to capture one of the scenes on the college grounds.
“If the lighting looks great in season 6 of The Crown, just know it was coming from my bedroom,” the student revealed.
Meg Bellamy, 19, was photographed filming scenes at an Italian restaurant in St Andrews last week. She was seen wearing a red shirt and vest.
Meanwhile, eager students recreated scenes from the show’s third series and asked Netflix to hire them, while others claim being an extra on the show could help them earn £250 for a day’s work.
But while many relished the corona mania that gripped their universities and their city, not all welcomed their facilities being reserved for filming.
“Imagine just trying to study or finish an essay and The Crown locks down the library. I would cry,’ said one.
‘Filming and construction in the library when exams are in a month! Lucky for us,’ said another.
“Trying to get to class on dismissals and fighting the camera crew is crazy,” another student noted.
It was during his time at St Andrews that Prince William met and fell in love with fellow student Kate Middleton, now the Princess of Wales.
They became friends their freshman year before romance blossomed after William saw ‘hot’ Kate strutting around a charity fashion show in a see-through dress.
They graduated in 2005, and William proposed five years later.
Meg’s rise will be meteoric after she was plucked out of obscurity to play the Princess of Wales when she submitted a self-recorded audition to the show’s creators after seeing the role advertised on social media.
Announcing the casting on Instagram last September, she wrote: “Pinch please… I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be playing Kate Middleton in Series 6 of Netflix’s The Crown.”
“It is such an honor to join the most incredible cast and crew and I will strive to do Kate justice.”
