Aussie woman lands in the emergency room after a viral cucumber TikTok trend went horribly wrong

An Australian woman was rushed to the emergency room after a ‘simple’ TikTok challenge went wrong, and she’s warning against jumping on social media trends.

Brisbane native Bec Hardgrave recently attempted to make one of TikTok content creator Logan Moffitt’s viral cucumber recipes.

Popular recipes always call for cucumber slices. Bec used a brand new mandolin to slice the vegetable.

But her plan backfired when she cut off a piece of her hand.

“I told myself I wouldn’t fall prey to a trend again, but I did,” she said in the short clip.

She showed herself with the mandolin and immediately proceeded to lie in the hospital bed with a bandaged hand.

“I cut my hand on that mandolin, just like a tomato,” she said.

‘Here’s a warning to everyone – I just bought that mandolin and didn’t open the box all the way, but it comes with a protection so [you don’t hurt yourself].

Bec could not be stitched because the wound is too wide. She will have to wear a protective covering on her hand until the wound has healed.

If you want to make a similar recipe at home, be careful with sharp knives and be aware of your surroundings.

What is the viral cucumber recipe and how can I try it?

TikTok chef Logan Moffitt is famous for his ‘cucumber of the day’ recipes.

“Sometimes you have to eat a whole cucumber, and I’m going to show you the best way to do it,” he says before revealing a brand new recipe in each video.

The recipes are simple and perfect if you want to prepare a cheap lunch or dinner for the whole week.

Logan’s ‘sushi cucumber’ recently went viral, leaving millions of people clamoring to try his other meals.

To make the cucumber sushi dish, you will need cucumber slices, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, wasabi, grated ginger, and Kewpie mayonnaise.

Place the cucumber slices in a lunch box or jar and add other ingredients to taste.

“I’m going to make salmon sushi, so I have some smoked salmon,” Logan said.

You can also replace the salmon with other ingredients depending on your diet, such as firm tofu.

“I’m just going to cut it up into little pieces and add it to the cucumber,” he added, before sprinkling on MSG and furikake (a mixture of toasted sesame seeds, nori, salt and sugar).

Then put the lid on and shake the ingredients well so that the cucumber is completely covered with the homemade dressing.

The chef described the dish as a ‘bomb’ and claimed he was delighted with the successful – and simple – recipe.
