Bec and Lleyton Hewitt’s hipster daughter Mia, 18, wears a low cut boho dress as she performs a gig in Sydney with her band

Bec and Lleyton Hewitt’s daughter Mia channeled her inner hipster on Thursday as she stepped out to play a gig in Sydney.

Mia, 18, one half of musical duo Father’s Favorite, showed off her musical talents when she performed at The Midnight Special in Newtown.

Looking every bit the bohemian rocker, Mia was certainly ready for a performance in a black leather jacket that she wore under a low-cut long black dress.

She completed the ensemble with a pair of retro brown boots when she arrived at the venue.

With her long, wavy locks flowing in the Sydney evening breeze, Mia kept the boho theme going with a long black and crimson scarf she wore around her neck.

She finished her look with blush to highlight her cheekbones and a light pink color on her lips.

Mia’s bandmate Cherise, meanwhile, took a similar approach in a breezy red dress with a lace floral embellishment on the shoulders and a ruffled neckline.

On the band’s Instagram page, the group is described as a “bohemian folk-rock duo.”

The pair appeared confident and cheerful as they arrived at the venue and smiled in the street.

The duo’s pre-gig meeting grew by one as they chatted with a male friend on the steps of the venue.

The trio seemed to be having a great time as they chatted with the man while happily sipping beers as they got ready for the gig.

The band played their first gig in August and Mia’s former Home and Away star mother Bec is reportedly keen to steer her in the right musical direction.

Although she is best known for playing Home and Away fan favorite Hailey Smith Lawson from 1998 to 2005, the actress also had a brief pop career.

Thanks to her television fame, Bec released a solo album of the same name in 2002 and her debut single All Seats Taken reached number 10 on the ARIA chart.

However, her album received mixed reviews and her music career effectively came to an end in 2004 when she parted ways with the Warner Music label.

A source said New idea that Bec is keen to ensure that her daughter avoids the pitfalls that can befall new and inexperienced artists.

A source told New Idea that Mia’s mother Bec is keen to ensure her daughter avoids the pitfalls that can befall new and inexperienced artists.

“Bec knows how to deal with bad people and unreliable managers, and doesn’t want Mia to make the mistakes she made early in her career, such as being too optimistic about certain jobs,” the source said.

They added that while music is Mia’s current passion, she hasn’t ruled out a career in front of the camera, just like her actress mother.

‘Mia is very smart. She knows that you can’t just be good at one thing and that entering the music industry will ultimately require her to create social media content and put herself out there,” they said.

‘Ultimately this can lead to more work, such as modelling, acting and even presenting.

‘Bec just wants Mia to be happy and work towards a career that will support her.’

It seems the rock star lifestyle is rubbing off on Mia, with the young singer recently seen smoking cigarettes while hanging out with friends in Sydney’s Rose Bay.

Mia’s parents, tennis champion Lleyton and singer Bec, met on the tennis court during a charity match at the Starlight Cup in 1999.

The couple didn’t reconnect until a few years later, eventually meeting in person in 2005 before getting engaged after a whirlwind romance that lasted six weeks.

In addition to singer Mia, they also share daughter Ava, 12, and son Cruz, 15.

It was recently claimed that Bec could be planning a return to the cameras, years after she left her role as Hayley Smith Lawson in Home and Away in 2005.
