A Bahamas man accused of helping his ex-lover try to hit her former NFL star husband has protested his innocence
Terrance Adrien Bethel, 28, shot down claims he helped girlfriend Lindsay Shiver in her failed murder plot against Robert Shiver
Speaking Good morning Americasaid Bethel, “No one ever wanted him dead. I am absolutely not guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, and Faylo is not guilty of being a hitman either. It is time to let the world know that we are innocent,” he said.
The “Faylo” in question is Farron Newbold, 29, who prosecutors allege was the would-be assassin. Police discovered the alleged plot before Robert suffered any injuries.
Prosecutors say the trio discussed the attempted robbery via WhatsApp before Shiver sent a photo of Robert cozying up to a mystery woman to Newbold, adding, “kill him.”

Bethel told Good Morning America that the trio is completely innocent of the attempt to have Shiver killed
Sources previously told DailyMail.com that the images of Robert and the blonde-haired women are the ones Shiver likely sent to Newbold.
Bethel added, “She sends the photo that was just sent to her, when she found out he was there and the kids were home, that’s when she said she had to kill him.
‘Every time she gets into a fight with him and she tells me about it, I am of course furious. But planning to kill him, no.”
He said the text messages were the two lashing out at each other, adding: “That we loved each other was no secret. She’s still my best friend.’
Robert is now safely back in Thomasville, Georgia, with the couple’s three young sons after Shiver was arrested last July. She will stand trial in March 2025.
The alleged murder plot was discovered by chance when police began investigating a burglary at Grabbers, a popular waterfront drinking spot on Great Guana Cay.
They asked employees – including Bethel – to hand over their phones for inspection of the aforementioned WhatsApp messages.
The trio were arrested and more incriminating messages were found on their devices.

Shiver has been held in the Bahamas since her arrest last July, but a judge ruled she could return to the US to see her three children over the holidays
Robert was on holiday independently of his estranged wife when police contacted him to warn him of the plot.
When Bahamian authorities informed him of the alleged threat, he branded his wife “manipulative” and speculated as to why she might want him out of the picture.
“She had an affair with an 18 year old about a year ago and came to Abaco and sneaked him into my house in Abaco,” his statement alleged.
“I found out through her Apple Watch and she convinced me that she wants to be a family, so we tried to make it work.”
The marriage collapsed forever when he discovered his wife’s relationship with Bethell in February, Robert said.
He accused his wife of binge drinking, making “bad decisions” and dealing with an “unpleasant” new crowd.
Robert also said he was left “in fear for his life” and flew back to the US with their children shortly afterwards.

She is prohibited from being within 100 feet of her former NFL player husband, must remain in the state of Alabama and is equipped with an electronic monitor.
The mother of three is only allowed to return to Georgia, where her husband lives, for divorce or custody proceedings.
She claimed that Robert agreed to allow visitation rights with her children and later accused him of denying access.
Robert is the son of Allen Shiver, who served as CEO of Flowers Foods for more than four decades before stepping down from the $5 billion company in 2019.
Robert played for Auburn University as a long snapper from 2006 to 2008.
He signed with the NFL team Atlanta Falcons as a free agent following his college career, but was let go in the initial roster cuts prior to the 2009 season.
He is now dating Savannah Chrisley, whose reality TV star parents Todd and Julie Chrisley are currently serving long prison sentences for fraud.
Lindsay, a former cheerleader, was named Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished second in the National Peanut Festival pageant.
