The first rule that Natalie said to follow if you want glowing skin is that you should never try more than one new product in a 30-day period.
The reason this is important, Natalie said, is that if you enter more than one, “you won’t be able to tell which product is appealing to you.”
“There’s also a second reason, and that’s that you need at least one skin cycle to be able to tell what kind of effect a product is having on you,” she said.
The typical skin cycle lasts around 28 days and involves old skin cells being replaced by new skin cells that have moved to the skin’s surface.
Natalie’s second rule also relates to skin cycles, as she said you need to follow a skin routine for at least one skin cycle to see what you’re doing.
“If you’re someone who’s guilty of buying tons of new skincare products and changing up your routine every other week, this is one that calls your name,” she said.
Elsewhere, the beauty aficionado said you should stick to “only boring skincare,” which means items that are fragrance-free, and that you should try to eat at least “1-2 skin foods per week.” ‘.
These include spinach, healthy fats like nuts and avocado, salmon, and berries.

“Number five is that you have to remember that skin is not just skin care,” Natalie said.
“If you’re someone who doesn’t get much sleep, has high stress levels, or doesn’t get a lot of exercise, pick one of those things to improve on next year.”
Finally, she said that you should try to ‘kick your skin picking habit’, which she managed to get rid of herself and noticed great benefits.
“And number seven, if in doubt, do nothing or see a derm,” Natalie concluded.
She said she used to change her routine or remove blemishes if her skin suffered, but actually it would have been much better to leave it.
“Don’t do anything, and if you’re really struggling, see a dermatologist,” she said.
