Beauty influencer is slammed after suggesting she’s ‘reversing the ageing process ‘by taping her nose before bed
A beauty influencer has left people stunned by revealing she gives herself a 'mini nose job' every night.
Isabelle Lux from New York, who has over half a million followers on TikTok, was greeted with skepticism when she posted 'nose taping tutorial'.
Under the hashtag '#reverseaging', Isabelle seems to suggest that the quick trick, which uses cheap kinesiology tape normally used to treat sports injuries, can help achieve a more youthful appearance.
She explains that she cuts the tape into small strips of varying thickness, using the narrower strips to go 'right under' her nose and lift it up a little' and the wider ones to go over the bridge of the nose to go to a 'knot shape'.
“Personally, I like creating this shape because it makes a little knot on my nose,” she said.
Isabelle from the US posted a 'nose tape tutorial' on TikTok, where she has more than half a million followers
She explains that she uses kinesiology tape, which is usually used to treat sports injuries, to create a 'knot shape' – and advises that users can achieve any shape they want with the tape
Hundreds of TikTok users have tried the trend, but many doubt its effectiveness.
Although taping the nose is common after rhinoplasty, it is not very effective without rhinoplasty.
Isabelle explains that it can promote breathing because it expands your nostrils.
Isabelle adds that “it's super easy, especially if you do it about an hour after your skincare,” when the tape is likely to stick, and suggests her followers can “literally create any shape” they want for their nose using of her technique.
She especially recommends using tape along the bridge of the nose to reduce swelling.
'You can do anything. The sky is the limit,” she says.
Still, Isabelle's video was greeted with a mixture of skepticism and outright ridicule from some TikTokers who commented on the post.
One person, who meets Holly Dolly on the platform, didn't mince her words and said: 'To anyone watching this, nose tape does NOT change the nose and is not what it is used for.'
Another, Josefine, was equally scathing: “I refuse to believe this does anything.”
A number of fellow TikTokers were skeptical of Isabelle's claims, with some dismissing them outright
A third added: 'That's not how it works. You can't reshape your nose without damaging it, like surgery, or breaking it and then having it repaired.”
While a fourth commented: 'Guys, in case it's not clear, this is 100 per cent bullshit. Just a blatant scam. Shame on all these influencers.”
Other users shared their bewilderment at Isabelle's routine, with one person reasonably asking: “Do you have a red spot on your face in the morning?”
However, a few TikTokers seemed to welcome Isabelle's tutorial, with one writing: “I'll have to try it.”
